Your comment: “My point once again was that Jesus would NOT have permitted His Apostles to continue in His company had they wallowed in the same perversions as your church’s hierarchy did and does.”
Perhaps you are right, but we don’t know. Again, it is just your personal opinion. My sense of Jesus is that he would deal with sinners but not force them to leave Him and they would probably reject Jesus and leave on their own. You do not know the effect Judas had on the general Jewish population, perhaps more would have followed Christ.
I am sorry for you that you do not see God’s truth in the Catholic faith and yet you may have anger against catholic sinners and a “cult” behind a cloud of works.
To me, you reject Christ when you reject His Catholic Church, His Sacraments and His words of salvation. (Luke 10:16 ; John 12:48-50) To me, when you left the Catholic faith, you embraced heretical doctrines that disagrees with God’s Word.
I believe that one can have a positive relationship with God as long as they do not reject His words and follow false teachers.
For a Catholic that rejects the Catholic Church, there is no salvation outside of the Catholic Church CCC 846-847. I do believe that Christ founded His Catholic Church to help all in our process toward eternal life, and for those outside the CC the process is more difficult.
My understanding is the God is upset with the rejection of His Good News by mankind (including many Catholics) by their sins and is going to give us soon a warning that we will see our souls. This will be a great act of Mercy so that many will not lose their souls. We have the opportunity to repent, confess and change our ways, but God will not force us. It is our choice.
Currently for the last 500 years, Satan has influenced the world towards Communism and secularization and split the Christians into multiple groups with different doctrines and many do not participate in the Mass, Sacraments and prayer.
I pray for the conversion of sinners and that all Catholics will return to the Catholic faith.
That's rather distressing news.
I too pray for the conversion of souls to Jesus Christ. What you don't seem to understand is that believers in Christ ARE following the universal Christian faith and that is different from what Roman Catholicism presumes it solely represents. That is what I reject - not Christ and not the Christian faith. It's really no skin off my nose where someone is led to worship, grow in the faith and share fellowship as long as they are taught the Word of God. The way you carry on it seems like you refuse to accept as fellow Christians, brothers and sisters in Christ, unless they choose to become Roman Catholics. That's not the right way to see things. God is so much bigger than that. Just be happy when "former Catholics" don't become nonbelievers but remain followers of Jesus Christ and live to honor and glorify Him in all we do - most times to an even greater extent than we did as RCs. That DOES happen outside of the Roman Catholic church. You don't have an exclusive claim to the faith.
We been being 'warned' for almost 2,000 years!
It doesn't take yet another visitation from 'Mary' to get our attention.
...would no longer be a Catholic??
