If youre a Christ-follower whos wrestling with whether to vote for Trump in 2020, I get it. I understood your plight in 2016 and I understand it now, though less-so now. Ill admit that in 2016 I abhorred the mans behavior and I certainly wasnt confident that Donald Trump would be the conservative policy-pusher that the Christian-right wanted.
But I have no reservations now, and, my brothers and sisters in Christ, neither should you.
I would never ask someone to vote against their conscience, but I would challenge them to reconsider how their conscience is framed.
Consider the following:
1. Youre not voting for Donald Trump; youre voting for the Trump Administration.
Remember that by voting for Trump, youre effectively voting for many more people. Sure, Trumps name is on the ballot for president, but youre also voting for Mike Pence. Youre voting for outspoken Christians like White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, director-appointee for the White House Office of Management and Budget Russell Vought, and many other committed non-carnal Christ-followers.
2. Youre not voting simply for a person; youre voting for an agenda.
Isolating a vote to a face is to miss the point entirely. We dont vote simply to have people in office; we vote to have our preferred political agendas fulfilled elected officials are the means by which our political agendas are fulfilled.
Supporting President Trump isnt renouncing your convictions, rather its looking at the bigger picture beyond one man and seeing how his administration has fought to protect religious liberty, the life of the unborn, and many other volatile issues currently under attack in America.
To be fair, many have made the point that Supreme Court justices dont matter in regards to abortion because it was a Republican president (Reagan) who appointed Justice Kennedy, and Kennedy upheld Roe in 1992. Well, this is true. However, Kennedy was also Reagans third choice at filling The Courts vacancy after two failed appointments. Also, Kennedy has ruled very conservatively on many other cases.
No justice should be expected to be perfectly in line with conservative or liberal jurisprudence, but we can vote in a way that makes it close.
Alternatively, you know the agenda of the left, which has become extremely wicked in a relatively short period of time.
Notice my use of the word outweigh. I didnt say that policy has weight and character does not. Both character and policy hold weight and should be wrestled with thoroughly before a voting decision is made.
Long after Trumps administration, his character will be a talking point but his judicial appointees and legislative influence will last for decades. Long after Trumps administration, there are other people who will remain in influential positions. Federal judges, for example, hold lifetime tenures. They are appointed not elected. We dont vote for them.
But we vote for the person who appoints them. Trump has appointed 200 Federal judges at the time of this articles publishing. These judges have been right-leaning constitutional originalists who will be answering the calls to defend freedom, religious liberty, the value of life, and other imperative matters for decades to come.
Our childrens futures are worth far more than one mans character.
Religious liberty is worth far more than one mans character.
The millions of lives of the unborn are worth far more than one mans character.
Economic advancement, especially for low-income communities is worth far more than one mans character.
Ask yourself, are you willing to sacrifice these valuable opportunities on the altar of one mans character?
An overturning of Roe v. Wade is currently brewing in the lower federal courts. The plethora of heartbeat bills states passed in 2019 are all being challenged, and these bills specifically address the Roe issue.
The likelihood that the Supreme Court takes up these cases is very high because these bills check 3/3 boxes that influence The Courts decision on whether to hear a case:
§ These bills violate Supreme Court precedent (Roe 73, Casey 92)
§ These bills have a national impact
§ Multiple federal appeals courts are next in line for review
Given the appellate process, these cases will likely be brought to the Supreme Court in approximately three years from the time of this articles publishing, and with the ages of the liberal Justices Ginsburg and Breyer, The Courts two eldest judges, at least one vacancy is likely to be filled before the Roe precedent review.
The next president will be responsible for who is on The Court when Roe is challenged likely in the next few years.
Enough said.

How about reason #6 - if you let the Democrats take control churches will be illegal in the USA within a few months. It might take a few years to make Christians illegal as well, but they’ll get it done.
On the other hand, you could simply turn to the Bible and study the life of David.
The Bible? You mean that book filled with hate-speech that got outlawed a year after Biden won?
What reason is needed besides the fact that abortion is at the top of the Democrat agenda .
yes it should be a States right thing but States pass laws and judges kill them. Dems might even flood the supreme Court to make it in their favor. Democrats equal murder
I do not need five reasons. The only reason I need is leftists do not want him as President so that means we are quite close to the leftist target.

RE: It might take a few years to make Christians illegal as well, but theyll get it done
Well, there’s this pesky thing that stops them called the FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION....
“....How about reason #6 - if you let the Democrats take control, churches will be illegal in the USA within a few months. It might take a few years to make Christians illegal as well, but theyll get it done....”
Exactly. Your Reason #6 should be Reason #1.
IF, God forbid, Biden wins and the Senate flips, within a year, the Bible will be banned as “hate speech”. Churches and synagogues will be outlawed, forced closed and demolished/burned to the ground.
This virus BS was a trial run to see how far they could push on closing em and they were extremely successful.
The communist RATs are the party of Satan.
keeps a known socialist panderer out of high office.
These clowns have no self awareness.
I find that very attractive in a president.
I would be more enthusiastic about the amazing powers of the First Amendment if we didn’t have Christians being banned from assembling, holding Bible studies and singing in the State of California. Are we safe in assuming that the First Amendment will assure that the judiciary will overturn Governor Newsom’s tyrannical edicts? We’ll see.
Christians vote every day with their support of old testament Kings like Daniel (you know, that whole kill your friend to boink his wife thing), and the New Testament writer Saul of Tarsus, a persecutor of christians who came around to christianity en route to Damascus to kill more christians and took the name Paul. Im sure if they were true to their conscience, their principles, theyd disavow any support for such fiends. Its trite, pat, and hackneyed, but God doesnt always choose perfect men for the jobs He wants done; because there arent any. Get over it.
What behavior?
That was King David.
RE: Kings like Daniel (you know, that whole kill your friend to boink his wife thing),
I think you typed too fast. You mean King DAVID (not Daniel) right?
Because you’re voting against dems.
Without Trump getting the vote, the dems will win by default.
The only way to stop them is to bury them in votes for the person who is most likely to beat them.
And besides, President Trump is VERY pro-life and pro-Israel.
It’’s not going to stop them if they take control of the White House, the House and the Senate.
Look what happened to VA.
That’s our future as a country should the dems get in.
Daniel 12 an eunuch in the courts of Nebuchadnezzar.
No record of him being married either and it’s unlikely he was involved with anyone’s wife.
There a whole bunch of reasons, mostly which evolve around Trump following policies which support their religious rights, which would be trampled on by bigoted democrats who hate Christians.
