The English theologian George Hawkins Pember, in his 1876 masterpiece, Earths Earliest Ages, analysed the prophecy of Jesus Christ that says the end times would be a repeat of the days of Noah. Pember outlined the seven great causes of the antediluvian destruction and documented their developmental beginnings in his lifetime. The seventh and most fearful sign, Pember wrote, would be the return of the spirits of Nephilim, the appearance upon earth of beings from the Principality of the Air, and their unlawful intercourse with the human race.
Jesus Himself, in answering His disciples concerning the signs of His coming and of the end of the world, said it would be as the days of Noah were (Matt. 24:37). The implication is, just as it was before the Flood when the spirits of Nephilim were powerful upon earth (Gen. 6:4), mankind would experience an end-times renaissance of the influence of these entities. From Scripture we are made to understand the purpose of this latter-day wave of supernaturalism includes deception (2 Tim. 3:13), and the effect upon mankind would be so successful that heresy and delusion would become firmly entrenchedeven within institutionalized Christianity. In writing of this scenario, Paul prophesied to Timothy that in the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils (1 Tim. 4:1).
Based on contemporary developments, the foretold increase in demonism and its influence within secular and religious society is rapidly unfolding in this centuryabruptly, dramatically, and suspiciously. Biblical scholar Gary Stearman agrees, stating in disturbing language how the manifestation of these powers are quickening now because the world is under conditions in which the influence of Gods Holy Spirit is diminishing.[i]

How do you know it didn’t. The fallen Angels were not destroyed and their mating with human females is the origen of the Nephilim. Perhaps the bad Angels repeated their mischief.
I would say that is a bit of an understatement. 😁
Great post and summary!
Thanks for the reply!
Praying for your son also.
The Nephilim were men and Genesis 6 says nothing about fallen angles.
In your calculus who were the watchers?
Give me a verse site so I know what you are talking about. My translation may use a different term.
Because this is a logical fallacy (the ad populum, or bandwagon, fallacy), it invalidates your argument and so it proves nothing.
God installed an effective deterrent when He cast the offending demons into the abyss: the remainder are now terrified of a similar fate (Luke 8:31). Whether that deterrent will remain effective only God knows.
A very perceptive comment, which most Christians never realize. From the Acknowledgments of my book Ariel's Longing:
"Essentially, the Holy Spirit inspired this book when first He caused me ceaselessly to wonder, Why didnt Jesus also atone for the angels sins? Ive spent the past fifteen years puzzling over that simple and obvious question, and the result now lies before you."
You appear to want an argument refarding Gen 6:2 regarding the sons of God. I’ll pass on your challenge. I hold the sons of God were/are Angels.
You got me wrong, I wasnt challenging you I just asked for a reference so I could look up what you were asking about and discuss the matter. If your reference was to the sons of God in Gen. 6 them my answer would have been that I dont know what it means. I dont think anyone else does for sure either. Ive heard the angel theory along with several others, but I dont find them persuasive, it all seems pure speculation. Nobody is able to make a strong argument based on scripture. The angel interpretation is as good as any other but I dont find it persuasive although its possible. I dont know because scripture is just not clear on the point.
Watch the video. when you finish absorbing that material perhaps we can discuss it further.
I did and I dont find it persuasive, just as I dont find the books and lectures that come to different conclusions and say it cant be angels persuasive either. But I have no definitive alternative to push because scripture isnt clear. Its certainly possible they could be angels but scripture just doesnt tell us.
Here is a thought: A being not visible to the folks in palace party central, Babylon (Daniel 5) physically wrote upon a wall with only the hand in our spacetime. That being I presume to be a messenger, an Angel. If an Angel can reach from their spacetime coordinate realm into ours then I presume they could mate with human females. ymmv
I see no reason to just assume the hand is an angel. If God can create mana, bread and fishes out nothing he can certainly create a disembodied hand, or the illusion of one. I dont. think reading such preconceptions into scripture is proper hermeneutics.
It’s dangerous to take non-Biblical sources like the book of Enoch and treat them like infallible, inerrant text of scripture. They are not. To build a whole end times interuptation on additional “Jewish legends” is even more dangerous.
I will not bother you further
Dont put it that way. Yes, weve reached the wall on this issue and will have to agree to disagree. Its a tough issue and there is tons of disagreement out there among sincere Christians in the theological world. But Ive often enjoyed discussing theological/exegetical issues with you in the past and hope to in the future.
They’re still up to no good just like they were during “days of Noah & Lot”. They just aren’t pulling off the same stunt that those in Tartarus did.
