If THIS doesn’t get one’s attention, absolutely nothing will…
(The Book of Lamentations is a collection of five poems that serve as an anguished response to the destruction of Jerusalem in 587 B.C., after a long siege by the invading Babylonian army)

Are we there yet ?

TOPICS: Catholic
KEYWORDS: babylonian; lamentations; temple
Reading 1

Lam 1:1-5 1 Aleph. How doth the city sit solitary that was full of people! how is the mistress of the Gentiles become as a widow: the princes of provinces made tributary!

2 Beth. Weeping she hath wept in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: there is none to comfort her among all them that were dear to her: all her friends have despised her, and are become her enemies.

3 Ghimel. Juda hath removed her dwelling place because of her affliction, and the greatness of her bondage: she hath dwelt among the nations, and she hath found no rest: all her persecutors have taken her in the midst of straits.

4 Daleth. The ways of Sion mourn, because there are none that come to the solemn feast: all her gates are broken down: her priests sigh: her virgins are in affliction, and she is oppressed with bitterness.

5 He. Her adversaries are become her lords, her enemies are enriched: because the Lord hath spoken against her for the multitude of her iniquities: her children are led into captivity: before the face of the oppressor. Jerusalem, Jerusalem, return to the Lord thy God.

The inhabitants of JerUSAlem are the ones who reside within.

So obvious a child could spot them.

It’s like that.

Established “wisdom” is going down.

Years ago I read the Jewish Wars by Josepheus and was during the war 66 CE by the Romans.

Very interesting read about the culture, the terror, the destruction, how people tried to survive, etc.

Not really.... didn't want to link it … sorta...
I like her spunk I really do.. she can be over the top controversial sometimes, to each his own though for sure.. but she is an acquired taste for most, and while I found her post interesting...I'm always hesitant to hyperlink not wanting to appear to be steering traffic....

As to her opinion that prominent Bishops in the USA don't truly believe in Sacramental Divinity anymore...I'm 100% with her on that.... That's why the doors to the Altar are closed for this Easter....
