The Crucifixion, Good Wednesday and the Sign of the Prophet Jonah
IFB ^ | 4/8/20

Dear friend, maybe you were raised to believe - as I was - that Jesus (our Lamb and Savior) was crucified on Good Friday. If one does the math... Friday can never work (see charts below). The "Sign of the prophet Jonah" states it all; The ONLY sign that the Lord would give to the Messiah rejecting leadership of Israel and nation was the sign of the most rejected event and individual of the Bible, Jonah and the whale (Jonah 1:17).

The ONLY sign that the Lord would give to the Messiah rejecting leadership of Israel and nation was the sign of the most rejected event and individual of the Bible, Jonah and the whale.

"Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth Matt. 12:38-40)." (Matt. 16:4, 12:39, 11:29, Luke 11:30).

One MUST think like a Jew and not a gentile to understand the biblical settings that take place in the Bible. Too many gentile "Christians" see Jesus, the apostles, Israel, her promises and the Bible with a "western" perspective and when one seeks to do that, they err greatly on the many things even to the damnation of their soul (Rom. 11:24, 2 Peter 3:16). Almighty God used His chosen nation, people, Jewish believers, the lunar calendar, their culture, customs and heritage to bring forth the Holy Scriptures and the flavor of them. Jesus (a Jew - Matt. 1, Luke 3:23-38, John 1:10-14, Acts 2:22-33, Acts 7, Rom. 1:1-3, Rev. 22:16) presented the Gospel to the Jews first and when He taught them, He talked and taught them as "Jew to Jew" and used their customs, heritage and society to teach them the wondrous ETERNAL TRUTHS of Almighty God (Matt. 5-7, 13, 15:24, Mark 10:6, John 6, 10, Romans 1:16).

One MUST think like a Jew and not a gentile to understand the biblical settings that take place in the Bible.

Many to this day who profess to know the Lord Jesus and call themselves Christians, know Him not as set forth by the Holy Scriptures (Matt. 7:21-23, Rom. 10:2-4)? This Passover and Resurrection Sunday may you be sure that you TRULY know the very One who died for our sins and gave His life for us all that we may find forgiveness, pardon and live with Him FOREVERMORE in RIGHTEOUSNESS (Isa. 52:13-15, 53:1-12, John 3:16-17, Acts 4:12, Romans 4:25, Gal. 3:13, 1 Cor. 1:30, 15:1-4, 2 Cor. 5:21, 1 John 3:5, Rev. 1:5-7)!

Many to this day who profess to know the Lord Jesus and call themselves Christians, know Him not as set forth by the Holy Scriptures?

The Lord Jesus ROSE VICTORIOUSLY from the grave for ALL, but truly how many of the "ALL" will truly trust Him as their Lord and Savior as set forth by the Holy Scriptures?? Tragically, not many (Matt. 7:13-14, Rom. 10:2-4)!

May you be sure that you know the very One who died for your transgressions and rose for your justification!

The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

A great LINK to a good study on a Wednesday crucifixion BELOW!

That is its proper name “Spy Wednesday”. It is found in the Bible about Judus and the Temple priests.

You beat me to it. I never heard it called Good Wednesday, only Spy Wednesday when Judas cut a deal for 30 pieces of silver.

Scripture says in no fewer than eight (!!) places that Christ will be or was raised on “the third day”. For example, Jesus himself uses those words in Mt 17:22. There’s no way you can get from a Wednesday crucifixion to a Sunday resurrection and still have it be “the third day”.

That doesn’t get you there. If Wednesday is the “first” day, then Thursday is second and Friday is third. He would have had to rise sometime before sundown on Friday evening. If Thursday is “first,” then sometime before sundown on Saturday evening. Neither one fits; it can’t be Wednesday. Thursday would work, though.

Saturday evening 6:00pm starts Sunday. We have to think Jewish and liner, not Julian and western. Have to think like a Jew not a goy... Check out Genesis 1:5... And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening(1st) and the morning(2nd) were the first day.... not morning (1st) then night(2nd)

The Hebrew day starts at night not morning, example; the Sabbath begins at 6:00 pm because it starts the new day.

Any time Saturday night after 6:pm He arose.

Shalom bro!

Best way to see the parable:
He spent 3 days teaching in Jerusalem.
Each night of those 3 ‘days’ spent in Bethany.

He spent 3 ‘nights’ arrested (dark/night 1)
Slain (dark/night 2)
Tomb (dark/night 3)
In Jerusalem.

Three ‘days’ and three ‘nights’ in the
‘Heart of the Earth’ = Jerusalem

His 3 days are/were the 10,11,12th days of the 1st month. And each of those days He left Jerusalem each evening.

He spent the night of the 13th day arrested and betrayed in Jerusalem.

He spent the day of the 14th on the tree dying for our sins and the night of the 14th day in the tomb
The scripture calls this ‘Passover’

He spent the day and night of 15th day in tomb
The scriptures call this Unleavened Bread.a Sabbath day.

He spent the 16th day risen forever as First Fruits of those who have slept.

Passover(14th) is the Father’s 6th Day of His week.
Unleavened Bread 15th Sabbath is the Father’s weekly Sabbath.
The 16th , First Fruits is the Father’s 1st day of the week.

This is the Father’s Passover today. It never changes. He changes not.
Tomorrow is His 7th Day Sabbath.
He changes not.

Babylonian ‘good false goddess Frig Day’ is the Father’s 1st day of the week this ‘year’ .
So, a day the world commemorates His death, it’s actually the day He was raised (!?)

Satan deceives the whole world..

Three days and three nights isn’t three ‘days’ in the tomb.
It can’t be because it would break His law regarding peace offerings/Thanksgiving offering.

A tomb isn’t the heart of the Earth’.
It’s three days journey in Jerusalem teaching and warning, just like Jonah in Ninevah and his three days in Ninevah.
And Jerusalem didn’t repent.
And 40 years later...

A greater than Jonah showed up and they didn’t listen to Him before His death, burial or His disciples after His resurrection.

Today, again,as the Father tells time is Passover. But also important,it is His 6th and final work day in the Father’s second week of His first month.

The Son finished His work on the Father’s 6th day (today)
And rested from all His work on the 7th Day (tomorrow)
And was raised the third day in the 1st day( day after tomorrow)
In accordance with the scriptures.

But that certainly is at odds with Babylonian calendars and religion.

Which may be why it is again written Satan deceives the whole world...

6th day, 7th day, 1st day is correct scripturally.

But Satan’s Friday, Saturday and Sunday are not truth.

The Father’s Passover, Unleavened Bread and First Fruits are Truth.

And according to the scriptures. Just like Saul/Paul taught.
But don’t trust Judaism. They think Babylon’s Saturday is His Sabbath.
If they had the Son, they would know the Truth. The Truth can set them and everyone free! They have and we all have inherited lies.

May He open the eyes of all us born into Babylonian captivity to His awesome work and plan explained perfectly through His Son!
The Passover Lamb!

People forget that Jesus' prophecy was For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The clock starts ticking once Jesus is buried - not when He was first crucified. That didn't happen until the evening on Wednesday because Joseph of Arimathia had gone to Pilate to ask for Jesus' body so He could be buried in the tomb (see Matthew 27:57-60). By Sunday (the first day of the week) at dawn, Jesus had already risen because the women went to the tomb (see Matthew 28) and He was NOT there.

I agree your math works perfectly. What I don't see is why some people make such a big deal about insisting Jesus was crucified on "Good Friday" and arose on "Easter Sunday". Perhaps they don't want to disagree with "tradition". The important thing is that we believe He DID rise from the dead just as He said He would and because of that we are redeemed from our sins. As Paul told us:

For if the dead are not raised, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If our hope in Christ is for this life alone, we are to be pitied more than all men. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own turn: Christ the firstfruits; then at His coming, those who belong to Him. (I Corinthians 15:16-23)

You nailed its tradition, alot Christianity is tradition. Some to litte is good, most damnable. It’s just a biblical position really but it is a fact. We have so westernized christianity, its heart and birth is all Jewish because the Messiah fulfilled the law (John 1:29, Rom.10:2-4), that is why I like studying God’s word with the Jewish mind.

Thanks for your reply!
