Portland, Maine, Mar 4, 2020 / 12:00 pm (CNA).- Maine voters Tuesday upheld a ban on exemptions to the requirement that students in Maine schools be vaccinated.
Voters in the state rejected an effort to overturn a state law that will go into effect next September. The law eliminates parents ability to opt-out of the states school enrollment vaccination requirement because of their philosophical or religious beliefs.
LD 798 passed in May 2019. Under the law, a child must be vaccinated to attend any school, public or private, unless there is a medical reason preventing vaccination, such as an allergy to an ingredient in the vaccine.
The law does not mandate vaccinations; but does require them for school enrollment.
At the time of the laws passage, about nine out of 10 unvaccinated children in Maine were not vaccinated because of a parents religious or philosophical objection to vaccinations. About one percent of unvaccinated children were unvaccinated due to a medical condition.
Maines overall unvaccinated rate of 6.2% is among the highest in the country, and its percentage of unvaccinated kindergarteners was three times the national average at the time of the bills passage.
LD 798 will now go into effect in September of 2021. The bill was signed by Gov. Janet Mills (D) last May after it was narrowly passed in the state senate. The bill was supported by most of the legislatures Democrats and opposed by most Republicans, although members of both parties voted both for and against the bill.

Need to make more popcorn for this one!
Boom.
Gates’ polio vax killed and permanently damaged thousands in India just a few years ago. It happens all the time in other places, we just don’t hear about it because vaccines are totally safe and natural.
The purest of pure evil nature of the vaccine industry becomes more apparent every day
To be sure democrats say we will force you to inject your body with poison
Ive been telling them to fuck off my entire life , and Im not going to stop now for myself or my children
which vaccines?
I will let my tagline speak for itself.
Verses how many lives vaccines have saved.
I am pro vaccine and have traveled internationally so I have a whole set of vaccines that most people have not obtained.
I am also pro choice and do not want to grant to the government the power to force medical care on the citizenry.
This seems to be good balance. One is not forced to obtain a vaccination but you can’t attend school until you do so.
If you’re one of the permanently damaged or dead , I don’t think that argument would carry weight with you. Especially if others are demanding you do it for THEIR health, not yours.
Okay so 100,000 die because ten or twenty don’t want to be vaccinated. Got it.
In what world does your insane scenario actually occur besides your incredibly small mind?
If ten or 20 unvaccinated people are somehow able to infect and kill 100,000 people that are already vaccinated, seems the vaccine doesn’t work. And that the whole science of vaccines is pretty poor.
Did you go ahead and sign up to be a volunteer for testing these vaccines yet? They can’t hurt you at all you know, and you might even make a dollar or two.
I wonder if it there is a correlation or negative-correlation between anti-vaxxers and Q-followers?
