My point is that what you are describing is totally subjective.

And while you can find people who identify as evangelical Christians doing things like visiting psychics, I certainly believe that as a percentage you find way more people who identify as Catholic doing so, despite the fact that the Lord is all we need, and He insists that we don’t consult demons. And this is because fewer Catholics have any idea of what’s in the Bible, God’s own Word and message to us.

As for the comparison to Mormonism, your take here is like the “have you stopped beating your wife” fallacy. You can’t see where the fact that I reject Mormonism makes me different from a Mormon. But the fact that Mormons in some ways accept Christ and the Bible and their lives reflect that somehow supposedly counts against me rather than the life I live as a witness for Christ counting for me.

As His Word says, to have faith means to believe that He is, and that He’s a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. When difficulties arise, I try to, as soon as I can, remind myself that He’s there, that He’s God and He’s good, that He’s working all things for my good, to our real life is in the eternal, and also continue to praise Him, and while doing so I’ve grown and grown in my trust in Him and love for Him despite any worldly afflictions. What overcomes the world, the Bible also says, is our faith in Him. When we persevere in it despite what troubles we face here, don’t give in to temptations to sin and trust Him for our reward outside of this life, that is evidence of our relationship with Him. Maybe this is just foreign to you, though, given your church’s practices and beliefs.

Again, you’re not describing anything that falls outside the norms of the human condition. Even Alcoholics Anonymous, a overtly secular organization, has direct experiential analogs to everything you mentioned.

Seeking to develop certain habits of mind develops and strengthens those habits of mind; there’s nothing spiritual about that.

What you describe is no different than a person seeking to improve their physique through the habits of exercise finding it easier to perform exercise, and even extending that habit into attention to their diet.>>>

The Bible says to be ready at all times to explain to others the hope that you have in Christ (1 Peter 3:15). Since apparently arguing that only Catholics have this hope, then you should be able to explain it. You haven’t begun to do so. It should be all about Christ, not about human history or rejecting Protestant.

Sure, yes, let us pray for each other. But I’d like to hear some of your examples of relativism that you suggest I and other Protestants engage in. What you say sounds like an accusation and judgment without any true consideration of evidence, just that one isn’t a Protestant.

A common charge against Protestants made by Catholics that involves supposed relativism is that our churches are ones of disunity and cause disunity in the Body of Christ.

Yet, again, if you consider that the Bible instructs us that leaders may have wives, then there is great disunity in the Catholic Church. Catholics also say that it’s good to pray to saints who have fallen asleep in Christ because the saints in this world also pray for each other, although those who are asleep don’t ask the saints here to pray for them about different matters, so the requests just go one way unlike among Christians still here in this world. But there is also division among saints who believed differently and who lived when the church held different official views, yet Catholics don’t seem to consider those differences a problem. If Catholics now how to dogma that Catholics earlier didn’t accept, and that Catholics disagreed upon, Catholics don’t seem troubled by those disagreements and that they all don’t have EXACTLY one mind in beliefs at all times throughout the centuries. That would seem to be because it’s presumed that a Christian ultimately depends on Christ, and having a genuine faith in Him will lead in the next life to Him correcting all the misconceptions a believer still might have, and perfect unity among believers can only happen there.

Satan has been working on leading us all into relativism for a long time. By now Catholics are even more brainwashed into relativism.

In this fierce and underhanded battle, it is very important to be “wise as serpents” and not just “innocent as doves” (Mt 10:16)!
I do not know if you get the idea. Without true humility to seek the truth from God in Divine Revelation, ready to change ones life accordingly, we humans automatically take the easier way and interpret things according to our own heads. Yes protestantism was founded in subjectivism, “Sola Scrittura”. Each person or indipendent group is the infallible interpretation of the truth. But as I wrote above, Satan has worked very hard to lead the Catholics into almost complete relativism today. So the incredible punishment from God for the Catholics and thus also for the world is to give us what we want, a leader who leads us to believe that it is OK to do as we like since God loves us and God is merciful. Everywhere in the Bible where it talks about mercy, in the same context it is always linked together with the obligation to repent and conversion. Now in the Church today, is being led very quickly into total relativism. There is no more sin, according to many bishops and priests today in the Catholic Church, who have lost their faith, and been brainwashed from the beginning in the Catholic seminaries, infiltrated after the Second Vatican Council.

For a conservative blog like Free Republic, I am rather surprised that it seems that most members who contribute to this Blog really believe that the world elite are not in control of the Mass Media! Why have you not explained why there were no more follow-up articles after the article, “Mystery Heavenly Body Discovered”, a front page story of the Washington Post, by Thomas O’Toole, 31-Dec-1983???
The world elite, guided by their real master, the prince of the world, Satan (Jn 12:31; 14:30; Rev 12:9), take advantage of the basic human weaknesses, such as human respect.
If I realize and believe that the truth comes from God not from me, and I have a little virtue, especially humility, I should be willing to listen to someone who says to me that what I wrote or said was not in harmony with what God has revealed to us throughout human history (called Divine Revelation), while quoting documents of the Church, or whatever documents that I proclaim to follow. But if I believe or feel that the truth comes from me, I will not be willing to dialogue with anyone not in agreement with me, as have done all the dictators in the history of the world. By throwing out the precious laws of God, we quickly go toward “might makes right” as it is in hell!
How quickly we call and article “Bogus”, or whatever, if is not in agreement with our convictions, without taking the chance or risk to dialogue, seeking the truth that comes from outside of ourselves, from God found in Divine Revelation throughout the history of mankind.
Even the scribes and the chief priests had to admit that Jesus had no regard for human respect: “Teacher, we know that you speak and teach rightly, and SHOW NO PARTIALITY, but truly teach the way of God” (Lk 20:21; Mk 12:13; Mt 22:16).
Our judgment after death will be based on human respect! “Everyone who acknowledges me before men, the Son of man also will acknowledge before the angels of God; but he who denies me before men will be denied before the angels of God” (Lk 12:8-9).
The elite of the world have basically infiltrated every group and organization today, adapting themselves to each individual group so as not to be detected and to lead each group in a subtle and hidden way in the direction the elite desire.
A subtle and hidden, but powerful ploy of the elite to greatly diminish the protection of the family and of society today is to promote the vocation of the husband and of the wife, not according to Sacred Scripture or Divine Revelation, but according to the world and secular feminism. It is the man who has been given the vocation from God, not from the world, to protect his wife, family and society. In a powerful and hidden way, the elite of the world have pushed the father of the family aside or at least made if very politically incorrect to speak about this God-intended protection of the family and of society. The few truly Christian men in positions to speak and to be listened to by the public have been silenced or at least pushed out of the public square. If a man prays his vocation can be lived according to God. Among other things, the wife has the God-given vocation to inspire her husband, as the heart of the family. Studies have shown that if the mother of the family goes to church regularly without her husband, less than 5% of the children continue this practice later, while if the father of the family goes to church regularly without his wife, more than 40% of the children continue this practice later. This is the way God has made man and woman, with equal but different roles. The world, with secular feminism, sees things from the point of view of power, not of service, and thus seeks to pit man against women, e vice versa, to destroy the family. Satan wants to pervert the fundamental God-given vocations of man and woman so as to weaken and destroy the family, the fundamental cell of society. Lenin and Stalin promoted secular feminism so as to take away this protection and weaken the family so as to have very little resistance to their dictatorship. It is very politically correct, even in the Catholic Church, to promote the role of woman according to the world and secular feminism, instead of according to the great call of women according to God as shown in the lives of the saints for 2000 years, which today is considered old fashioned and prejudice.
