Those of us in the protestant church don’t want him either.

So we’re not allowed to proselytize and if we don’t like the current Pope, we should leave the Faith. Such awesome shepherds the Church has.

The brain-pretzellating complication is that when the Pope is preaching non-Catholic, post-Catholic, anti-Catholic faith and morals--- those most faithful to the timeless, perennial Catholic faith are called dissenters. Protestants.

It's almost the Epidemides Paradox:If the pope himself is a Protestant, what do you call those who protest against him?

And were could I go to be just Catholic?

Whatever the Pope is, he’s no Protestant. Apostate to the Catholic faith, yes, but not Protestant.

“Our Protestant brethren have neither the pope nor the bishop — everyone makes his own choices.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Choices based on the word of God.

The Bishop and Pope should try it.

I hear the EO doesn’t have these issues.

You’re not going to pawn your apostate pope off on Protestants. He’s the very epitome of Catholicism, you guys own him. If the hierarchy has been corrupted it’s certainly not our doing or our responsibility. It’s yours.

I made a brief look-see at a PCUSA church a close relative goes to. I think Senor Bergoglio would fit right in there.

"Criticism is fine, but this destructive criticism is not," the prelate added, observing that "there are too many people speaking against the pope."

I get the feeling that any criticism is considered "destructive" by the Pope.

There are too many Catholics speaking out because this Pope has turned traditional Catholicism on its head...he seems to deliberately vague about interpretation of the Gospels. This creates confusion where none should be, and invites attacks from non-Catholics.

He also seems far too willing to wade into political discussions and preaches far Left doctrines as if they too, were the word of God. I'm not saying there isn't room for leaders within the Church to engage in politics when critical to its core beliefs (such as for abortion), but Catholics don't want to hear about climate change.

“Nice try, but the Protestants were not mere protesting against the pope but of all the bishops and 1500 years of Church teaching.”

The Reformation started with Luther protesting against abuses being sanctioned or perpetrated by the pope at the time. Principally, indulgences.
