There is already a practical, but not yet formal schism in the Church, said Italian historian Professor Roberto de Mattei.
Talking at the January 18 "Acies Ordinata" presser in Munich (English video here), De Mattei stated that "there are two different religions within the same Church."
He distinguished between the religion of the German bishops around Cardinal Marx on one side, and the Catholic religion on the other side.
De Mattei stressed that Francis has also to decide whether he wants to be the Vicar of Christ or "the head of the German-Amazonic Church."
The talks at the presser are published on Gloria.tv in Englisch, German and Italian.

Weinandy, who has made a lifelong study of such things, says this bizarre phenomenon is historically unprecedented.

The great Schism in the Church began the day the Satan Council (Vatican II) began in 1962.
Fr Weinandy’s analysis is spot on.
And where is the Catholic teaching that Christ’s Vicar can be both the Visible Head of His Catholic Church and a false church at the same time? Sounds like heresy to me.
Tagline.

It sounds like Wienandy thinks it *is* possible: “a bizarre phenomenon”.
That’s what makes it so surreal.
And then there’s OMCET.

Protestant theologians were allowed to participate in V2 and thats why the Mass that came out of it is indistinguishable with a Protestant service, most notably Lutheran and Angelican services. The Church that came out of V2 is protestant. No one had the right to change the Mass. Real Catholics attend Traditional Latin Mass, not the Protestant garbage being peddled as Catholicism.

Well, they do if any such Masses are celebrated close enough to their homes. Unfortunately many Tridentine Catholics, myself included, would have to travel great distances to attend the Traditional Latin Mass. The closest one to where I live is 75 miles away! That’s 150 mile round-trip drive, sometimes in very inclement weather conditions.
calling anyone Christs vicar sounds like heresy to me.
