It’s the same reason Arians believed it. That way God can be impersonal and not personally interested in you and what you do.
I didn’t connect that - so the Adventists and Jehovah’s witnesses are no more than modern day reigniting of the old Arian false teachings
The creed of Arian Ulfilas, repackaged and spruced up. Yep.
Another Adventist hit piece Cronos? You ran out on the last one. Why does it matter to you what other people believe #1? #2 I don’t know if Michael is Jesus or not and it has nothing to do with my salvation. So this is just another cow patty stirring that you apparently get your kicks out of because of . . . ? Are you really that insecure?
The JW’s have their own version of the Bible which they claim is more accurate than any other versions (although they keep the identity of the translators a secret so as not to elevate anyone) and in their version it reads, “...and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.” There are other changes throughout and is how they support their views as being biblically accurate. Especially with their additional books and magazines where they will reference a line or two of Scripture and then spend several paragraphs explaining what the verse means and how other religions have the wrong understanding. Give them the same verse from king James or other translation and they will tell you the copy you have is a translation error and it is easy to see how you “have misunderstood” - part of their psychology in recruitment when they come across lay people who while they believe in God they target to join their cult by trying to enlighten people.
Paganism=everything but the worship of Jesus Christ, alone.
This is what we get from Sola Scriptura.
I could ask you the same thing in any number of your posts that aren’t about your peculiar set of beliefs. What is it to you?
No, this is what you get when you ignore the scriptures and add the traditions/teachings of men.
Besides which, it is good for Christians to know that the Adventists and Witnesses (both millerite groups) espouse this non-Christian belief
Do I take it that you will refrain from saying anything about any other religious belief as, well you said “why does it matter to you what other people believe?”
No more amazing than your religion believing and teaching Mary is the mother of God and the Queen of heaven...
that’s not a good definition imho - by your definition even Judaism would be paganism.
Do you believe that Jesus is the archangel Michael? Why?
As a Bible teacher I taught all of my students the way you can tell a cult or a false teacher is by doing what Jesus/Yahshua showed us by example. In Matthew 16:15-17 Yahshua said to Peter:
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
When you ask anyone Who is Jesus/Yahshua if they say anyone but the fully divine son of God then they are a false teacher/cult. Ask a Mormon who Jesus/Yahshua is...Ask The Way, who Jesus/Yahshua is. Real easy to spot the deceived.
Hardly.
JWs have serious errors in their translation of the Greek....most notably John 1:1.
See, Richard, errors such as this are proven incorrect with the proper knowledge of the Scriptures....especially when read in context.
When one reads the CCC 963 one sees the error of Rome.
Since the Virgin Mary's role in the mystery of Christ and the Spirit has been treated, it is fitting now to consider her place in the mystery of the Church. "The Virgin Mary . . . is acknowledged and honored as being truly the Mother of God and of the redeemer...CCC 963
Pay close attention to the AND in the catechism.
Rome is claiming a lot here....and a lot of error.
Not any more than I believe that Mary is the mother of God...And why would I???
Jud_1:9 Yet Michael the archangel,
Rev_22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Adventists aren’t Arians AFAIK, they just think that “Michael” is sort of an alias for Jesus. JWs are Arians and proud of it.
What about Rome's non-Scriptural beliefs??
