Consider the alternative, and then try to explain anything at all. Identify and defend all your assumptions, then get back to me.

Modern day people have an unfounded belief that science can explain everything. Atheists and leftist cultural types have in particular grabbed on to that meme to push their agenda
Meanwhile people who have reached the cliff edge of scientific knowledge, stand out there on the edge and say - wait a minute, Im here looking into the void - and theres still a vast universe of things which we simply cant explain without a God.

The world in which we live screams of a creator. And the more we know, the more “proof” there is. I give you DNA as but one example. Darwin was not aware of it. If he had been, he may never have written is infamous book.
I’m reminded of a quote in an early 1990’s Scientific American article about DNA. One of the scientists interviewed that was studying it said, “The more we know about it, the more it looks like it was designed.”

Fact is, the more we know, the more we know we don’t know.

Nagel opts for 'natural teleology' over theism to explain all this, positing a universe that (for reasons he doesn't explore) 'wants' to become conscious. I don't understand how a material universe "wants" anything.
But I do understand that an eternal and infinite God might have plans.

A scientist says to God, Lord, we dont need you anymore. Science has figured out a way to create life out of nothing. In other words, we can now do what you did in the beginning.
Oh, is that so? Tell me more, replies God.
Well, says the scientist, we can take dirt and form it and breathe life into it.
Well, thats interesting. Show Me.
So the scientist bends down to the earth and starts to mold the soil.
Oh, no, no, interrupts God. Get your own dirt.

Man goes to God and says, “We don’t need you anymore. We can create Life just like you did, from dirt.”
God says, “Ok, show me!”
Man grabs some dirt, when God interrupts him, “No, go make your own dirt, first!”

I have a college textbook on the topic of cells which said that even though life looks as if designed...don’t believe it...it is an illusion. Purposely ignorant is the best way to describe it. Author lost his scientist card.

All of that to say “it’s unreasonable, illogical and irrational to not recognize a Creator”.
Following on, therefore, it is also reasonable, rational and logical that the Creator has purpose and affection for His creation. Furthermore, then it is also reasonable and even expected that He as an object of His affection.
Hmmm. Just as the Book of Genesis (Origins) clearly states.
But, the fool in heart says there is no God.
