- A Catholic diocese in northeastern France is endorsing new "gender-neutral" language in ecclesiastical baptismal registers after the bishop issued a letter recommending the removal of all references to "father" and "mother."
The traditional terms for parents will be replaced on a default basis with "the name of the parents or other holders of parental authority."
The bishop of Langres defended the new guidelines, saying it would enable the Church to adapt its initiation rite to homosexual unions without offending anyone. "The situation in France is becoming more and more complex. This makes certain Catholic acts difficult, in particular, those that concern baptism," Bp. Joseph de Metz-Noblat stated in an official letter to clergy on Dec. 13.
Moving forward, in any baptismal certificate, "we will simply acknowledge the context of the child's family situation, without making any moral judgment," the 59-year-old prelate clarified.
De Metz-Noblat, appointed by Pope Francis to the see of Langres in 2014, attached a template of the traditional baptismal certificate that records the names of father and mother.
"Up to this day, in the baptism records, it [name of each parent] was stated," he noted. "From now on, we will only find ... names and first names of parents or other holders of parental authority ... followed by the civil status mentions."

Fixed it.
Invalid and Sacrilegious.
The cancer that has invaded the Catholic Church is at stage 4.
What happened to burning heretics at the stake?
Like many in the workforce, he will already have attended CLASSES in how to “properly” implement this without offending anyone, and of course been instructed in at least a few of the new sets of pronouns, to celebrate the new teachings of the church.

Satan is rejoicing in this day and age. He knows hes gonna lose and hes gonna take everyone down with him that he can. Satan hates God and he hates us.
Again.
Man is bowing to MAN, and not God. Who in the past history of the church has heard of the Homosexual Agenda? Nobody. And why is it a problem today? Because the Church made it into a problem by giving in to it and soon enough there will be new deviancies being preached from the pulpit as the gospel truth. Next lying will not be a sin because we are all liars and should be accepted the way that we are, our true orientation, that is our being. To deviate from lying is to not accept our being. And the Commandments will be crushed into stone and fine dust under the mill wheel of man’s justice.
Shouldn’t the language of sacraments be as accurate, not as vague, as possible?
Probably one is the father and one the stepfather, at best.
The core of the rite is valid—
If they changed the formula to “the Parent, the offspring, and the holy it” now that would be invalid.
However, I will not argue the Sacrilegious part of your statement.

Spot on.
Attended mass with my late-70s parents this weekend. The usual crap. Priest wearing a rainbow shawl and the petitions included praying that elected officials treat people of all colors and background with dignity, and that refugees are met with open arms.
I did not contribute to the collection basket. Will not attend mass again until my next visit to my parents’.
No, no and no.
I think that sums it up. The nasty metastatic tumor is Bergoglio, but as with any cancer, it started long before him.
Ping
That is sad. We thank God every day we have a small town parish and over the last 30 years we have had good and very good priests.
This is the same church whose pope said that there is no requirement to believe in God to go to heaven, no faith in Jesus Christ, nothing. Everyone goes to heaven.
