I remember Steve Gregg from somewhere.I’ll watch later. Thank you.
Keith Green has some children song videos named “Hide em in your heart”. They are great and we played then often for our kids when they were young.
They are now free on youtube.
My church insists on using a lot of Getty hymns as part of our worship services.
Sound lyrics. The music itself can be good. Difficult to play musically. Lots of strange timings for the notes.
Usually not straight 4/4 or 3/4, etc.
Some of the songs I just find irritating. Give me Isaac Watts or Charles Wesley any day.
I’d also add that what Getty talks about as “emotionalism, my wife refers to a “my boyfriend Jesus” hymns.
I used to attend a church like that. Used to.
That's true for nearly all Evangelical and Pentecostal groups - they focus on playing on your emotions exclusively
The church I go to seems to have utterly forgotten about Satan. There is only God, and he loves me. It’s Joel Osteen light.
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all in all
Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand
I just HATE when that happens!
(Given to St. Dominic and Blessed Alan de la Roche)
1 | Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive powerful graces. |
2. | I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary. |
3. | The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies |
4. | It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of people from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means. |
5. | The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish. |
6. | Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying Himself to the consideration of its Sacred Mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise Him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life. |
7. | Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church. |
8. | Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plentitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the Saints in Paradise. |
9. | I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary. |
10. | The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven. |
11. | You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary. |
12. | All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities. |
13. | I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death |
14. | All who recite the Rosary are my children, and brothers and sisters of my only Son, Jesus Christ. |
15. | Devotion of my Rosary is a great sign of predestination. |
"The Most Holy Virgin in these last times in which we live has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Rosary to such an extent that there is no problem,
no matter how difficult it is, wheter temporal or above all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families...that cannot be solved by the Rosary.
There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary."

Not if it is found in the Mormon Hymnal
I hope I parsed them right.
Lotta work done there!
Gods people are those who follow Him.
Given the day I read the title as: “Modern Warship Movement....”.
More coffee please Miss.
I have stated that for years, despite the seeker sensitive nature of some churches I attended.
Keith Green! How he is missed!
I think that is Steve Green you’re talking about.
And working on some improvement in formatting. But the hymns are a testimony to the effects of Biblical regeneration. Note most are fruits of the great awakenings of the 1700 and 1800's, to God be the glory.
He writes what modern hymns.
I don’t know if I’ve sung ever sung any Mormon hymns. I’m Lutheran (LCMS) and most of those songs have been around for centuries.
The current state of worship is even worse than people might think. It actually appears that churches are embarrassed of the faith, traditions and symbology. It isnt unusual to find a church that will not even display a cross. The music is trite happy-clappy usually played so loud as to be painful. I suppose the Holy Spirit touching the soul is confused with a rousing bout of tinnitus! Fundamental creeds of the church ignored to the point of being forgotten. Even the Lords Prayer is unknown. And thats the good news...a generation of millennials have been raised to be outright hostile to religious faith.
