Doctrinally in the Catholic church from my studies Mary is literally prayed to in supplication and intercessory prayer raising her to the status, as in the same position of Jesus as who is our propitiation to the Father.
Which is blasphemy and demeans the Triune God that is, God the Father God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit
