Purgatory is only for those with venial sins to be purged from their souls. No one with sin on his/her soul enters heaven. People dying with an unconfessed/unforgiven mortal sin on his/her soul get no Purgatory. They go straight to Hell.
Purgatory was/is/always will be TEMPORARY. Hell is for eternity.
