The Vatican announced the launch of the "Click to Pray eRosary" Wednesday. October is the month of the Rosary. The eRosary is an app-driven device that can be worn as a bracelet. To activate it, all you have to do is make the sign of the cross, similar to how Catholics begin praying the Rosary. Once activated, the wearer can choose between three different options to pray. There is the standard rosary, a contemplative rosary or a thematic rosary, which will be updated every year. The device shows the users progress throughout each prayer and keeps track of each rosary completed.

Yet there is 30,000 flavors of Protestantism.

Isn't there something in Roman Catholicism about spreading false witness?

This has been debunked so many times it is sad you repeat the propaganda.

Even the NCR admits this.

The commonly cited figure of 33,000 has apparently been thoroughly debunked (see here and here).http://www.ncregister.com/blog/sbeale/just-how-many-protestant-denominations-are-there

And again here:

I regret to say that is not going to happen here. There are not—repeat with me—there are not 33,000 Protestant denominations. There are not anywhere close to it. It is a myth that has taken hold by force of repetition, and it gets cited and recited by reflex; but it is based on a source that, even Catholics will have to concede, relies on too loose a definition of the word “denomination.”http://www.ncregister.com/blog/scottericalt/we-need-to-stop-saying-that-there-are-33000-protestant-denominations

Seems some RCs don’t really know what their denomination allows.

When I was young and in Catholic school all the nuns wore rosaries on their belt. I’m not even Catholic anymore and I know that fact!!!

Wrong. again and again. And by the way how many forms of catholicism? And you catholics that are so unified how’s the pope working out for you? I see as many splinter groups among your “united”’catholic caucus here on free republic as i do protestant groups. When do you say the last legitimate pope was?

The heretic Bergoglio needs another way to raise money as Catholics by the millions have closed their wallets. What did we expect of a Jesuit from Argentina? What a combination, that being a member of a heretical religious order having grown up in a corrupt socialist state. Oh, and not to mention all of the homosexuals he has surrounded himself with both in the Vatican and as appointed Bishops, Archbishops and Cardinals around the World.

Just another Francis gimmick:

Pope offers boxes of rosaries as medicine

Here's what Francis really thinks of the traditional rosary:

Pope on Traditional groups: "Pelagian current. It's like turning back 60 years! They count rosaries... Please, don't laugh."

I share with you two concerns. One is the Pelagian current that there is in the Church at this moment. There are some restorationist groups. I know some, it fell upon me to receive them in Buenos Aires. And one feels as if one goes back 60 years! Before the Council... One feels in 1940... An anecdote, just to illustrate this, it is not to laugh at it, I took it with respect, but it concerns me; when I was elected, I received a letter from one of these groups, and they said: "Your Holiness, we offer you this spiritual treasure: 3,525 rosaries." Why don't they say, 'we pray for you, we ask...', but this thing of counting... And these groups return to practices and to disciplines that I lived through - not you, because you are not old - to disciplines, to things that in that moment took place, but not now, they do not exist today...

I meant around their necks as a necklace. Yes, many orders of nuns as well as some of brothers and priests also wear their Rosary attached to their belt somehow.

1.2 billion Catholics = 1.2 billion opinions of what Catholicism is or isn’t.

Every man his own pope as they sit in judgment of the current sitting, elected according to procedure by the College of Cardinals pope.

from the angle of the picture, it looks like a woman sitting cross-legged, with her head down. I think I am starting to see Pachamama everywhere!

We ask the Blessed Virgin Mary to pray for us as we meditate on the different mysteries.

When Catholics ask her FOR things then they are not asking her to pray for them, they are praying TO her.

We simply ask her to pray for us. No attached lists, sorry.

“....some mommies and daddies are going to get some of those for their children to START an idea of prayer.”

I take your point...and you’re right, if it gets the kids started & interested early. But I’m kind of old school. My church brought in a widescreen TV, a coffee bar, a band with an electric guitar and drums, a new/modern music hymnal (I call it the Yahni hymnal). No thanks...don’t care for that stuff. They’re just gimmicks. These folks are adults and should be there for the Message. Dress properly when you come to church, don’t get up to refill your coffee cup in the middle of the sermon....sorry, rant over.

So they’re selling indulgences again. Cool. Martin Luther would be proud.

I agree with YOU 100%. We have TWO widescreen TVs and the band, electric guitar and such and I HATE it.
THAT might get young people in for a nanosecond but Mass ISN'T about that. It's about celebrating the Last Supper again and again with the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our good Lord.
If the folks don't know that then all the bells and whistles won't keep them coming to Mass over the years. It HAS to be about our Savior.
