I'm looking to find a syllabus that I could use to do Sunday School via teleconference with my grandson(s).
File under: 21st Century Headlines.
I have 2 grandsons, the older one is almost 7, so I'd be starting with him. The little one is only 2, so maybe just get him to do an art project or something for now.
I'd be willing to spend some money to get a quality product
I googled this and there were SO MANY ads that came up! Of course that made me happy, but I feel a little overwhelmed.
So I figured I'd come ask for guidance from the smartest people I know!
In twenty minute segments. Otherwise you will lose their attention.
Try this site for a few ideas. Might be wise to do a search for Children’s Sunday School Lessons to check what may be found.

In the meantime, there are these two sites:

“David and Goliath”
These are available, maybe it’s on Netflix. I found them when the kids visited this year. We watched a couple of episodes (I really always liked this show when I was little.)
And after they went home their mom told me the old guy had found veggie tales. I supposed he got some kind of “since you watched that, try this” thing. That’s what makes me think it was Netflix.
I love that program! :-)
When I first became a Christian, Dr. McGee’s daily broadcasts introduced me to the Bible.

Yes, with plenty of activity in between.
Thanks so much, you make them sound very good. My daughter went to Vacation Bible School at her grandmother’s church. I’d like to get the boys to go, but at my church it is only done in the evenings. But, I think the Baptists up the road may have a daytime program, I plan to take a look next year. Maybe we’d take the older one for just that week or something.
“Anything printed by NavPress is probably Biblically sound. Also for the Presbyterian perspective try Coral Ridge Ministries of Florida. A childrens version of Pilgrims Progress can be found.”
Thank you! This is perfect info, this is what I need to be sure of - who is sound.
And thanks especially for the tip on Pilgrim’s Progress.
I am a brand new Protestant, and I find myself becoming quite fervent about it. But I was raised a Roman Catholic, so you know with them there may be disagreements but you don’t have to worry about authority.
I used to see something on TV that was from Coral Ridge in Florida, years ago. I did like them, that I remember. But then didn’t the Media go after them a bit for something? Of course that only made me be more on their side.
I can’t remember any of the details!
“Thru the Bible with J. Vernon McGee on the radio just about everywhere teaches the whole Bible in 5 years.”
That would be perfect for me. Does everywhere include the NY/NJ metro area?
That is very interesting. I like that they just go with (and refute!) the BIG BUTS. Everybody’s got one. At least one!
That sounds perfect! Thank you!
I think I’m just going to start with the Christmas story (if I’m repeating myself on the thread please forgive me). But I could definitely use a lesson plan.
Kidding a bit, but I tell my daughter I’m ready if needed to home school her children. But I’ll be more ready after a few months of Sunday School!
Yes, I’ll get them something like that for Christmas for sure! TY!
Thank you, that all looks very good.
I will look for that, thanks!
“7/8 was the age I started memorizing the books of the bible.”
Do you mean word for word? I could never manage that!
“Seton home schooling”
TY! I will check them out!

“...Lifeway Bookstore they have kits by age...”
I don’t know if there’s one around here, but I’ll look for them. By age is perfect with the two of them. And a little craft thing they could do together, that would be fun I think!
