Mary was the mother of Jesus. Christians believe Jesus is God. Hence, orthodox Christians have always believed Mary is the mother of God. To say otherwise is to say Jesus is not God.

The words *mother of Jesus* are a descriptor of MARY, not a statement of who Jesus was.

The phrase *mother of Jesus* was used by the Holy Spirit to distinguish that Mary from some of the other Mary's in the NT.

It never was a statement about the deity of Jesus.

However, God is and was. .He is present past and future... all in one... he was not born.. Jesus was... the quote was Mother of God... God had no mother as far as we know...

I realize Jesus is God...the Son of God... God sent His only begotten Son.... Jesus was born .. not as we are... for the Holy Spirit was the implanter.

Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

15And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Christians know that the Heavenly Father existed long before He created the soul of Mary. Mary was the flesh vehicle 'chosen' to perform this prophecy. She is special, but to elevate her to 'Mother of God' is not Christian.

If Mary is indeed God's mother, then she is also the mother of God, the Father, and of God, the Holy Spirit.

Unless they are not God, too.

Yup. This is what happens when you're raised in a Christian "church" that is separated from the deposit of the faith. You become a Nestorian heretic and don't even realize it.

Christians do not believe Jesus is God, they believe he is the on of God.

God had many sons, if you read the Bible.
