The archbishop of Chicago says hateful rhetoric from some of the countrys leaders is partly to blame for mass shootings.
Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich issued a statement Sunday in the wake of deadly mass shootings in Ohio and Texas that claimed at least 29 lives in less than 24 hours and wounded numerous others.
Cupich didn't name anyone specifically, but says the public needs to hold leaders accountable "who fuel these violent acts by dividing humanity through hateful rhetoric." He says "elected officials who have failed to condemn hate speech" must be stopped.

As if our choice of words could cure homicidal madness. If only it was that simple.
Go to Hell Bishop!!!!!
Well yes, the stuff that has been spewed out of the DNC has been very hateful.
I doubt they will stop though.
The fact is that CuePick and most of the USCCB are on vacation from their vocation and their duty, silent about what matters and theyve run off untold numbers of their faithful flock.
Conversely, they are fully invested in preening, in their role, with robes sashaying to media microphones, very noisy about their new god, global politics and seek to fill their pews with more like minded Marxists and who will pay to play in the coffers.
We all know whats going on. Were fleeing to the Traditional Latin Masses as fast as possible, for a modicum of comfort in the Church of the Ages.
DITTO
Where were “Church leaders” when the Left has been happily kicking faith and religion out of the public sphere? Where were they when Trump and ALL his voters get called Nazis on a daily basis? Every time these leaders to hell open their mouths they depress the number of people who darken their pews.
Right....ALL the HATE speech is coming from the LEFT by blaming Trump!!
Hateful rhetoric like coming from Father Pfleger in Chicago, friend of Jeremiah Wright?
Cardinal Culpich should talk. There is gangbanger shootings in Chicago.
If at least we all chose our words more carefully, we could help solve this homicidal mental illness quicker.
