A Catholic priest took to Twitter to ask women to dress modestly for church services to “protect the purity of the men”— and people online are not having it.
Father Kevin M. Cusick, an ordained Catholic priest and veteran, wrote a tweet addressed to “ladies,” writing that a fellow priest was “forced” to ask a woman at a Catholic mass to cover her shoulders. Cusick went on ask women to “please help the priest to protect the purity of men at holy Mass by choosing to dress modestly.”
Cusick added, “The alternative is awkward for all involved. Thank you.”

The tweet faced almost immediate backlash, with both men and women arguing that women shouldn’t have to cover up their bodies to protect the sensibilities of their male counterparts while attending a church service.
“A woman's shoulders are not provocative. Women's bodies are not grenades, liable to explode at any moment,” replied Australian novelist Jane Caro, adding that this is why she “hates organized religion.”

Who are you honoring?
A lot of women go to church specifically to show off their clothes and to be seen. There’s no way they’re going to cover up.
Once upon a time in an earlier age, there were certain things that would “go without saying.” Our loss of this concept reflects the decline of the culture.
When I was a teen we attended a nearby church in an upscale neighborhood. I was more “motivated’ on Sundays because all the cute girls went there too, and they didn’t cover up either haha. It was a fashion show..
I would say that organized religion is in crises right now. They bend the nee to perverts directly subverting what is written in the bible. Promoting sin rather then counseling against it. I don’t see how they survive. Which may be a good thing as local congregations are not as prone to submitting to the global pc police. IMHO.
I know of at least 4 Bible teachings that women should dress and conduct themselves modesty, with discretion, dignity...
and this has been a part of the Judeo-Christian faith culture for at least 3300 years.
my opinion is that anyone who sasses back at a priest trying to discuss this matter....should repent and try to comport themselves in a proper fashion

I was at the doctor the other day and observed female nurses and doctors dressed like they were going out to get a gallon of milk at 11PM.

The Priest is right, people today do not care how they dress or how they look and believe me …… it shows.
From people in Airports on Airplanes, in Stores, Churches, …. Work places, offices, etc.,, Everywhere.
America has really slipped right into the OUT-HOUSE!

Definitely. The more upscale the neighborhood, the hotter the women at church, and the more skin showing. They really know how to bring Saturday night to Sunday morning. Lol! I’m not complaining, I’m just saying ;p
Exactly, I think it’s appalling the way some people dress for church nowadays. To me it’s just disrespectful. T shirts, shorts, flip flops. I guess I’m just old fashion.
This is where missing fathers and wimpy dads weak husbands whipped husbands are damaging society.
Men oh and guy friends. My guy friends would say it. That t shirt is driving me crazy all day.

And in Mass. come on. We want priests to be celibate. Do we Women’s give them a break? They are men.
Women are so pushy in this society.
I really find it hypocritical when women dress sexy to attract the attention of men, then complain that they have attracted the attention of men. Our fallen human nature is what it is, and simple charity should dictate that we do nothing to unnecessarily tempt others into sin.
