I think you want to pass the most restrictive law that might be upheld before the Supreme Court. This one is so politically risky that it could lead to serious election losses in 2020. If we could roll back the 19th Amendment, this wouldn’t be a problem. Thing is - women can vote, and they tend to vote against politicians who want to ban abortion.

I agree with you. A bill that's sure to be overturned doesn't save lives or change laws. It only serves those who want to lead a movement they don't really believe in. I'd much rather see a law that would overturn Roe vs Wake and save lives of pre-separation infants.

I wonder if heart beat law + two weeks would do that, with rape and incest within that period. That would force timely reporting to police about rape and incest crimes. That would increase prosecutions, cut down on bogus claims, keep women who are pregnant from being bullied into abortions. In time, you'd have less people who like to kill babies in the womb or as they're being born. Why? One can't help but suspect that in many cases rabid baby killers are that way because they had an abortion and think this justifies what they did.
