COLDSPRING, Texas, May 13, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) Officials in the small east Texas town of Coldspring are showing their support for crosses at the local courthouses by illuminating them at night, flaunting demands by a Wisconsin-based pressure groups demands to tear them down.
Last week, the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), an organization dedicated to challenging benign religious imagery on public property at every level of government, sent a letter to Judge Fritz Faulkner claiming to represent a resident concerned about four white crosses adorning the San Jacinto County courthouse, Click2Houston (C2H) reported.
These crosses unabashedly create the perception of government endorsement of Christianity, the letter claimed, making non-Christian and nonbelieving residents of Coldspring political outsiders. It also argued that it constitutes a blatant violation of the Establishment clause of the U.S. Constitution, which states that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.
Numerous residents dismissed FFRFs claims in comments to C2H. You have the right to honor the cross and you have the right to not honor the cross, Robin Blevins said. That cross isnt hurting anybody. Its to benefit those who believe. Rhonda Martin predicted the complaint would not go over very well here. Its a Christian community.

Crosses in Italian Cemetery Covered to Avoid Offence to Other Religions ^
I live very near here, trust me you will not break them. Actually you may antagonize them enough to put crosses everywhere. Actually, although I live close we are in a different county. Where I live all our local government vehicles have posted on the side or back “in god we trust”. Yes local Constables, sheriffs local cops even the town workers have it on the side of their trucks. Seeing decals with that canon saying “Come and take it.” Is not unusual around here.
Would be good to see more people putting lighted crosses at their homes too. I love to see them at night when travelling.
May God give special blessings to these towns who are standing for righteous. . .for righteousness exalts a nation. . .we need more towns to follow suit. This world is not our home but all of us were given an assignment by God before we were born. . .some have chosen to do it their way. . . and unfortunately will suffer the consequences.
God bless them!
I’m so inspired by this act to fight back the devil-I am considering an illuminated cross in the top of my grapefruit tree which would be visible above our roof line.

Agree. Poor English has the affect of inferring unperfect cognitations and lose thinking.
I wonder if Google Maps Streetview, which blurs out faces and license plates and some signs, will also blur out the crosses you mention, in order to not “offend”?
It does not have anything to do with the first amendment as it does not involve congress, a Texas town is not congress.
Yes, the constitutional limitations on governmental powers apply to all levels of government: this is known as “incorporation.” The claim that the First Amendment to the Constitution does not restrict actions taken by state or local governments is nothing less than a lie
Really, this is all it takes.
Stand tall or don’t stand at all
and let them dictate. Simple really.
There will be a war of sorts between Christians and the LGBTXYXX gang - the Gaystapo.
Pingaroo.
war of sorts
THEY can solve their issue with crosses.....just move to a non-Christian country. I’ll help them pack.
Those people want it all and will never be content until they make everyone around them as miserable as they are.
