Amir's very latest on the Gaza rocket attacks. The conflict escalated after four Israelis were killed. Israel has not rushed to a ceasefire this time but is fighting back big-time. Amir expects the conflict to be over very shortly.
I do think there's something to the theory that Hamas is trying to extract a bribe in return for quiet before Eurovision and all of the important events happening this month.
Here’s an insightful analysis for you: Watch the HBO series “The Pacific”, learn what victory in war against savages requires, apply the lessons, defeat the Arabs once and for all, and until you do, STFU.
The very latest on the Gaza situation.
Honest, that was one of the most anti Israel posts I have read in a long time.
As if they could do that and not be utterly and completely ostracized, even by the US.
Take back enough land to create a very large buffer and NEVER give the land back.
Kill everyone or STFU is just about the most worthless advice i’ve ever read.
His point was that the Gaza disengagement was a strategic mistake.
It gave jihadists an unfettered space to plan attacks upon the heart of Israel.
And the continued subsidizing of Hamas is not doing anything to make Israel more secure.
I still can't believe Snafu and Sledge, went on to play in Queen all those years later. ;)
If the Israeli government and people are not prepared or not able to win their war, then they need to be prepared to leave.
That’s not a value judgement, it’s simple application of the lessons of history.
More than once, Amir has said that something the enemy does gives Israel the opportunity to settle the score by doing something that they wanted to do anyway but they were wary of world opinion.
He repeated this yesterday or the day before about Gaza.
And he has also said that Israel did not want the headache of governing the Gaza Strip any longer. He was the “mayor” (or whatever the equivalent term is) of Jericho at the time that Israel governed Gaza, and he is extremely well informed on the whole issue.
This makes me think that the whole issue is more complex than it seems to us. The whole conflict may be in a sense Israel’s defense on that particular border.
Also remember Amir will be in DC today, tomorrow, and/or Wednesday for a breakfast speech before a conservative caucus of Congress. I am guessing this is the Republican Study Committee (which is not a committee of Congress but a caucus, as most of you know), which is four times the size of the group he said he would be addressing but it may be only part of the caucus attending the breakfast. It is not open to the public so it will not be on CSPAN but I hope to hear about it somehow afterwards and what his speech covered.
Sorry. Forgot to delete the closing symbol.
Well then. What's the plan?
So far, the plan has been to make peace without conquest, with people who want you dead.
This is a failure. I see no evidence that Israel has the will to exterminate the Gaza population, or even to inflict so much terror and carnage that the survivors see the wisdom of peace.
Therefore.
Israel does not want to govern a hostile and reckless population, but the fantasy of peace without conquest is just that, a fantasy. So, as I see it, Israel can either undertake war on a massive scale against these people, savage and cruel war; or they can stay there forever and pay the price of constant low-level war against their civilians, or they can abandon the project and go elsewhere.
It will eventually be under Israeli control, one way or another, since it is part of the Promised Land.
Can’t predict exactly how this will happen.
I agree that Israel has no hostile intentions against the people. The basic problem is that the “Palestinians” want Israel gone. Their whole raison d’etre is based on hatred for Israel. So benevolence had no effect on them when Israel ruled Gaza and still has no effect. Basically, one side would like peace and the other side would like eradication.
See Amir’s Twitter account for a great photo of him with Rudy Giuliani in DC.
They usually get it from their Santa Claus in Qatar, but he was in that nasty old United States getting medical treatment last week, so the barrage went on and on and got worse and worse, until the Egyptians stepped in as usual and negotiated. Now the killers have their shakedown money.
I know you saw a great photo Amir and me, so he has my permission to have a photo taken with Rudy Giuliani. 😁😆😂🙃
Only wonderful people get to have their picture taken with Amir, obviously!
😁👍😆
