Moscow, April 16, Interfax - The Russian Culture Minister will encourage Russian museums and citizens to arrange a fundraiser to help rebuild the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris that has been devastated by a fire, the director of the ministry's museums department, Vladislav Kononov told Interfax on Tuesday.
"We will invite museums and all citizens who are not indifferent to what happened to organize a fundraiser to support the restoration, the rebuilding of Notre-Dame de Paris. I think it will be right. We will hold consultations with our museum institutions, and I think that they will support such an initiative.
It's in our genes to come to the rescue, to help those who are in trouble. A disaster has occurred in France today. It's a great tragedy, and it would be right to help as much as we can to restore this unique cathedral," he said.

The Russians are great at restoration and have done incredible jobs on their own churches that were destroyed under communism or during WWII. The Orthodox and the rest of Russia universally despise pro-communist, pro-Islamist Francis, so this is a very generous gesture. (They loved BXVI though.)

Talk about collusion. I believe the french government had wind that this was going to take place. Why else would they take out a bunch of the statutes last week? Now they have all these countries saying they are going to provide aid to rebuild it. It is almost like a go-fund-me project and the french love it. No money out of their coffers.
