FULL TITLE: Two Catholic cardinals say 'homosexuality' is to blame for sexual abuse committed by priests - not the clerics themselves

Two Catholic cardinals claim homosexuality is to blame for the sexual abuse scandal engulfing the Church - not the clerics themselves.

American Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke and German Cardinal Walter Brandmueller wrote in an open letter on Wednesday that the approach to the paedophilia crisis was wrong.

They argue that Pope Francis' criticism of clerical power did not address the 'primary fault' which was a corruption of the absolute law, including by 'the plague of the homosexual agenda.'

Pope Francis has previously analysed the problem as a structural and cultural one which he calls, 'clericalism.'

The Mail is often useful, in that it will run stories that American Big Media won’t touch. Then they puke up stories like this pathetic mess ...

You guys should get a room and leave the people who want to read secular news alone.

Then why don't you just refrain from visiting the Religion Forum if you're just interested in secular news?

This is not on the ‘religious forum’. It’s in breaking news and there is no way to filter it out.

True homosexuality among the clergy is to blame, but those in the Church who embraced, pandered to and covered up for the homosexuality are also responsible. The devil also had a hand in the problem, but largely because his evil found such a good reception in the Church.

Gee, whooda thot? The media spinning things to align with their agenda? No way!

Certainly letting homosexuals into seminary IS the problem, but that is not saying the offending clerks are not at fault.

Thank you. I have been saying for years the whole abuse scandal should be put at the feet of those responsible.
Homosexuals.
Ever since it first came out, the media, and even those within the church, have said it is a Catholic problem, when it was obvious that it was a gay problem.
Root out the homosexuals within the church and 99% of these abuses go away.
But the reporting on this has always been the abuse is the fault of the church. Coverups yes, but the cause? No.
Journalist love to talk about and promote gay love except when it is pedophilia (That can never be admitted in public discourse), which is what this whole thing was about to begin with.
If they reported it that way, and if the church treated it that way from the beginning than a whole lot of dioceses would have had members demanding that their local priest was not a homosexual and we might have been spared the last 30 some odd years of abuses and scandals.

It is inherently sinful, since it violates natural law.

Heterosexual conduct may be sinful; homoerotic conduct must be sinful.

NB: There is no such thing as homosexuality; it is homoeroticism. Christians should disown the intrinsically deceitful word.
