FATHER GOD,
We lift up President Trump and his administration to you in prayer. Draw close to them. We declare Your Promises of protection over them and every believer in these perilous times...
Psalm 91
1
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.
3
Surely He will save you
from the fowlers snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4
He will cover you with His feathers,
and under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5
You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8
You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9
If you say, The Lord is my refuge,
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10
no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11
For He will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13
You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14
Because he loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15
He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16
With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.
In JESUS’ Name we pray. AMEN.
Amen.
The Methodist denomination of English preacher John Wesley and his hymnist brother Charles was spread far and wide in the American colonies by Methodisms first bishop, Francis Asbury, and other circuit-riding preachers who penetrated not just the populous cities of Englands American colonies, but also the outlying frontiers, with their message of a disciplined life of prayer and worship, temperance, and the sharing of the gospel with all classes of society. Methodism's Biblical and social conservatism strongly influenced our American Founding. Until the latter part of the 20th century, Methodism remained one of the largest denominations in the United States, sponsoring not only churches, but universities, hospitals and many foreign missionaries. UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatchers Methodist upbringing was acknowledged as part of her admirable Conservative governance by the Anglican priest at her national funeral in 2013.
Then came the Sixties youth rebellion, a movement that saw many mainstream denominations depart from the scriptures and traditional morality. In response, millions left those old-time churches (myself included) to seek churches with traditional Biblical teachingbecause times change and technology changes, but human passions remain the same, and the Word of God endures forever.
Later this month, February 23-26, the present-day United Methodist Church has called a Special General Conference, assembling delegates from all over the world, to consider whether or how to incorporate the past several decades of continual pressure by LGBTQ lobbies to radically change the traditional Wesleyan theology of marriage, or to split the UMC, which has already suffered great losses in membership.
Faithful Christians remaining within the UMC are praying especially for visa approvals for the many Methodist bishops and delegates from Africa, who do not want Methodism to enshrine gay marriage. The recent shutdown has slowed down the visa process.
I appeal to our intercessors to pray on these matters, especially since the leftward drift of that denomination completely violated the selflessness espoused by the founding Wesleys, as the prayer below illustrates
Thank you.
Amen!! Help him Lord against our nations internal enemies!
Psalm 94
94:1 O Lord, the God who avenges!
O God who avenges, reveal your splendor!
94:2 Rise up, O judge of the earth!
Pay back the proud!
94:3 O Lord, how long will the wicked,
how long will the wicked celebrate?
94:4 They spew out threats and speak defiantly;
all the evildoers boast.
94:5 O Lord, they crush your people;
they oppress the nation that belongs to you.
94:6 They kill the widow and the one residing outside his native land,
and they murder the fatherless.
94:7 Then they say, The Lord does not see this;
the God of Jacob does not take notice of it.
94:8 Take notice of this, you ignorant people!
You fools, when will you ever understand?
94:9 Does the one who makes the human ear not hear?
Does the one who forms the human eye not see?
94:10 Does the one who disciplines the nations not punish?
He is the one who imparts knowledge to human beings!
94:11 The Lord knows that
peoples thoughts are morally bankrupt.
94:12 How blessed is the one whom you instruct, O Lord,
the one whom you teach from your law,
94:13 in order to protect him from times of trouble,
until the wicked are destroyed.
94:14 Certainly the Lord does not forsake his people;
he does not abandon the nation that belongs to him.
94:15 For justice will prevail,
and all the morally upright will be vindicated.
94:16 Who will rise up to defend me against the wicked?
Who will stand up for me against the evildoers?
94:17 If the Lord had not helped me,
I would have laid down in the silence of death.
94:18 If I say, My foot is slipping,
your loyal love, O Lord, supports me.
94:19 When worries threaten to overwhelm me,
your soothing touch makes me happy.
94:20 Cruel rulers are not your allies,
those who make oppressive laws.
94:21 They conspire against the blameless,
and condemn to death the innocent.
94:22 But the Lord will protect me,
and my God will shelter me.
94:23 He will pay them back for their sin.
He will destroy them because of their evil;
the Lord our God will destroy them.
Thank you, faithful one for this prayer thread today.
Father God, we humbly come before You, again, petitioning for the soul of this nation, that we may once again live according to Your Divine Precepts. Lord, we pray that those who resist You, resist our beloved President, resist the rule of law, and resist all that is good and sane and right, will cease believing the lie, will no longer do the devil's work, and will repent, lest they be destroyed. We pray these things in Jesus' name.
Lord God,
Thank You for giving us Your Son, Jesus Christ to save us from our sins. We confess that every good and perfect gift comes from Him and is available to us as believers because of His perfect love and the sacrifice He made for us on the Cross of Calvary.
Thank You for giving us our beautiful country and all the blessings of living in America. We love our nation, Lord, and yet our hearts are grieved because of what we see happening in it. Please forgive us and help us to repent. Your Word tells us that if we turn from our wicked ways, You are faithful to forgive us and will bless our land.
We are so grateful for our President and seek all Your very best on his behalf. Grant him supernatural wisdom and strength as he makes decisions daily that affect us. Shield him from his enemies and help him to triumph over them. Lord, give him the courage to stand firm in protecting our borders and in doing what is right in Your eyes. Please help him to continue to fight against the evils of abortion and may our nation choose to honor You by ending this horrible culture of death.
Bless all those who serve in defense of our country, Lord. We know that the only way to truly make America great again is to return to You. Help each of us to do all that we can to influence this world to be a better place. We love You, Lord, and thank You for Your faithfulness in all things. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
You were on the spot today, dear FRiend! Amen to your petitions, in Jesus’ name!
Amen.
Amen to your Beautiful, Powerful Prayer, Dear Servant of Jesus Christ.
Joining you in Thanksgiving, Prayer, and Praise.
AMEN!
Amen.
