The bishop who rushed to judgment on those Covington students finally apologized and said he was bullied into making a premature statement. Hogwash. We know that the media, the liberal left, and celebrities have been pounding on the church for sex scandals, but is that any excuse for caving in with fear from these secular critics? For many years we have watched so-called Catholic politicians enact laws contrary to church teaching without getting called on the carpet by their pastors.
Governor Andrew Cuomo was overjoyed signing the most egregious, evil legislation in New York State history, allowing abortions up to birth, and Cardinal Dolan says that excommunication for him is inappropriate. For heavens sake, its not as if Cuomo is even a practicing Catholic. Excommunication is different in the canon law of the Roman Catholic Church in that it is not a permanent separation but is a censure and considered a medicinal penalty intended to invite the person to change behavior, repent and return to full communion. The church is a spiritual community and has the right to exact rules and edicts that belong to it so that it can be well administered and survive. Members who, by their obstinate disobedience, reject the means to this common cause deserve to be removed from such a society.
Not only should Cuomo be excommunicated but any Catholic legislator that voted for this bill should be as well. That goes for CINOs (Catholics in name only) like Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, Joe Biden and other frauds who put on the mantle of the church at funerals, baptism, weddings when they should be ostracized. They should go join any of a multitude of Christian churches who mock the teachings of Christ.

They are not cowards. They are in bed with the Democrat Socialists.
Their bread and butter are government programs funding services for the poor and illegal immigrants filling the collection baskets. The organization is infested with pederasts and politicians.
I am done with the Catholic Chruch®
If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything. Alexander Hamilton.
Raised Catholic but I don’t understand how I can countenance such failure or hypocrisy.
Dolan should be excommunicated. It’s a shame when the leading bishops and pope become Catholics in Name Only.
The seperation of church and state arguement takes on a new meaning in the light of this recent controversy. It appears that instead of the state being influenced by the church, the church has been corrupted by the state.
“For many years we have watched so-called Catholic politicians enact laws contrary to church teaching without getting called on the carpet by their pastors.”
Follow the money. My bet is that these politicians are big time donors to the church.
Actually, these politicians steer government money and contracts to The Church. That's far more money than they could afford to give.
I don’t think I would limit the discussion only to Catholic leaders. IMHO, most traditional church’s are failing their responsibilities. And our culture is paying.
Cultural Marxism continues its’ march on humanity.
Compared to what?
The Catholic Church has withstood bad Popes in the past and it will do it again.
A bad Pope has not influence over my personal faith and love of Jesus Christ.
Keep the focus on Jesus!
I have stopped giving to the Catholic church, except for small, token donations. I guess the church needs to die to be built again.

It is not the Pope, it is the entire organization from the Priests on up. This is the same organization that shamelessly buys $3.2 million dollar mansions for its Bishops to retire to.
What do you think Jesus would say to that?
My guess is that the angry event in the temple would look calm in relation to what he would do to the Church today.
