“For man” means the sabbath was for the benefit of man. You assume that means it was commanded of all men. Let’s see how consistent you are with that assumption.

In Gen. 1.29, God said that He gave every herb as food “for man.” Does this mean God commanded all men to eat all herbs? Do you? Of course not!

In Gen. 2.18, God created woman as a help meet “for man.” Does this mean God commanded all men to have this “help”? Obviously not.

In Gen. 2.16, God said to man, “Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you.” Do sabbatarians come to this verse and say “Every moving thing that is alive is food for man. Therefore, God commanded all men to eat every moving thing that is alive”? Do you? Why not. Don’t you believe your own argument enough to obey it consistently?

Why is Mk. 2.27 the only passage where you assume, “for man” means “commanded of all men”? Your own actions show they don’t believe it means that anywhere else in the Bible.

Whoa! I am still trying to discern whether you are serious or trolling me.
God gave every herb as food for man in Gen 1:29. True I believe every herb has a medicinal or nutritive purpose.
God gave woman as a helpmate to man. True but with the context the world was new and un-populated. They were to produce progeny and populate the earth. In todays times . . the earth seems populated enough so that may not apply now due to changing circumstances. let it be as to how you desire it.

My Gen. 2:16 doesn't have that. perhaps you mean Gen. 9:3,4? The context is this. This was after the flood and there was no green life on the face of the earth. Here God, for the first time recorded, gave man permission to eat animals. What is not recorded is the distinction between clean and unclean animals but Noah already knew this, didn't he? of course because of the command to bring more clean animals in the ark than unclean (Gen. 7:2). And by the fact he only sacrificed clean animals as a sacrifice to God in his burnt offerring (Gen. 8:20)
