Andy Stanley’s an idiot. Jesus implicitly approved of a questioner following the Ten Commandments — I don’t remember exactly where in the Gospels that was, but it’s there.

Jesus’ TWO (not ONE) great commandments are IN ADDITION to the Ten Commandments, IIRC. This guy is an imbecile, and quite possibly a cult leader as well.

While I believe in the Creation as related in the Book of Genesis, I would hesitate to state that science has proven the existence of Adam and Eve. I do know that there is a hypothesized Adam (from whom all males are descended) and a hypothesized Eve (from whom all females are descended). However, those two hypothesized individuals lived many tens of thousands of years apart.

My own position is that science still has some catching up to do, as it is not yet advanced enough to understand that the Bible is correct.

It is. It was pertinent in the Old Testament, but not pertinent after Christ’s death and the coming of the Holy Spirit. It is not “a thing” in the New Testament, and the only Commandment not repeated in the N.T., when salvation wasn’t via law any more, but strictly by grace through faith.

Maybe you should re-think what you are saying, because Jesus apparently thought that the Pharisees were pretty righteous:

“For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:20

Even though the day of the Sabbath was changed

God didn't change it. Don't blame God for what the people fail to do.

Christ said He came to fulfill the Law.

And in that passage, Jesus said the law would pass away when all was fulfilled. He fulfilled it.

When Jesus declared the New Covenant, the old passed away.
Hebrews 8:13 "In that He says, 'A new covenant,' He has made the first obsolete."

Likewise, when Jesus gave us a New Commandment in John 13:34, the old passed away. When Paul says we died and were delivered from the law (Rom 7:6), his example of the law is the Tenth Commandment (Rom 7:7).

What I find astonishing is the lack of knowledge of New Testament Commandments, such as: (where the word 'command' or 'commandment' is used)

Some Jews have enunciated a principle called the "Noahide Laws," which are considered to be universal precepts applicable to both Jews and Gentiles. They include prohibitions of murder, theft, various sexual acts (including adultery and homosexual acts), blasphemy, idolatry, and eating the flesh of a living animal (a prohibition which probably requires some explanation). There is also one "positive" requirement: creating courts of law. These seven laws also have some "penumbras and emanations," i.e., further acts and prohibitions which are believed to logically derive from them.

Keeping the Sabbath is not one of the requirements for non-Jews, although the performance of some acts of worship is considered mandatory.

I think there is a big difference between the Ten Commandments and Jewish ritual law. One is like God’s constitution and the others are Talmudic laws concerning Jewish rituals and lifestyle.

I didn't say that God changed the Sabbath; my comment strongly suggested that the Christian day of worship was changed from the Jewish Sabbath by Christians, and that not all of the reasons for doing so were particularly honorable. This came at a time when anti-Semitism was creeping into the church.

You have the wrong god there. He's talking about the Judeo-Christian God, not the muslim god, allah.
