After Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich caught heat in August for making remarks regarded as insensitive about the clergy sex abuse crisis, he took the unusual step of ordering Chicago-area Catholic priests to read a prepared statement during weekend masses defending him and insisting his comments had been twisted by the media.
With church officials again under fire this time for a withering report from Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan that found the Catholic church in Illinois received hundreds more accusations of priests molesting kids than was previously known Cupich has again sought to steer messaging from his priests on the topic.
Just before Christmas, one of Cupichs auxiliary bishops, Ronald Hicks, distributed a letter to priests suggesting ways to address the Madigan report and the overall sex abuse scandal during holiday masses. The letter suggests language the priests could use that acknowledges the churchs failures but also pushes back against some of Madigans findings.
The letter, obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times, also provides talking points priests can use when discussing the crisis with friends, family and parishioners over the holidays.
As you know best the pastoral concerns and needs of your community, please feel free to share the following information in any way you deem appropriate, Hicks wrote. During this weekend, and perhaps during the Christmas liturgies, people will likely turn to you for guidance and understanding.

Cupich is a snake. Rod Dreher has been posting a lot about him on his blog, and I was especially struck by this comment from one of Dreher’s readers:
Cupich has a long record of successful cover ups. Remember after the first John Jay report in 2002? That report made clear that 80 percent of the abuse was of a homosexual nature. So, if you are covering this up, and want to downplay the fact that you have a large number of homosexuals who have just been caught abusing teenagers, what to do?
Well, you need some enterprising bishop to take charge and issue some sort of report saying that it had nothing at all to do with homosexuality. So guess who got that job. Cupich. Cupich was the bishop leading the cover up report that was the second John Jay report, issued in 2010,
But unlike the first report, which was done via the oversight of a committee of prestigious and notable lay people, this time around they got rid of all them and Cupich hired one sex researcher from John Jay to work on the project. She found that no, it had nothing at all to do with homosexuality. Apparently her reasoning was something like this. If an abuser did not come out as homosexual, there was no way to know if he was a homosexual, so the problem cannot be homosexual. Instead, they invented something called affective immaturity. which sounds all psychological but is just babble.
Cupich announced their results and the media dutifully reported that it had nothing to do with homosexuality.
Cupich has long been the clean up man. The man that gets rid of your messes. He has the gift of being able to shamelessly lie to your face and stick with the lie for as long as it takes.
Ever seen the movie Pulp Fiction? The Harvey Keitel character is a mob guy you call when you have killed a person. He comes over, he gets rid of the body, he cleans up the car you killed him in, he gets you out of town.
Thats Cupich.
Cardinal Cuprick.
“He has the gift of being able to shamelessly lie to your face and stick with the lie for as long as it takes.”

He’s a big gun control guy too in his spare time.
A prediction by Cardinal George:
I expect to die in bed,
my successor (Cupich) will die in prison
and his successor (??) will die a martyr in the public square.
His successor (??) will pick up the shards of a ruined society and slowly help rebuild civilization, as the church has done so often in human history.
~ Cardinal Francis George
I think the homosexual problem is THE problem, not only because of their behavior but because they cover up for each other.
“Thats Cupich.”
Great post.

Sounds like Catholic priests see their positions as a license to molest. Disgusting filthy deceivers.
...just another rabbit hole.
