FULL TITLE: Football coach is fired for attending funeral of teen he 'bullied' against his parents' wishes then taunting them on Facebook after the service where the boy's parents say the priest painted their son as a 'sinner'
A full version of the homily LaCuesta's homily has also emerged but it does not make reference to heaven as the boy's parents said it did.
According to the version which was circulated on Monday, the priest said: 'I think that we must not call what is bad good, what is wrong right.
'Because we are Christians, we must say what we know is the truth that taking your own life is against God who made us and against everyone who loves us.
'Our lives are not our own. They are not ours to do with as we please. God gave us life, and we are to be good stewards of that gift for as long as God permits.
'The finality of suicide makes this all the worse. You cannot make things right again.'
He did not mention the word heaven but said: 'Christ Jesus sits at the right hand of God even now, interceding for this one who could not stand before God on his/her own.
'Truly, none of us can stand before God on our own. We all need Christ to intercede for us, to plead our case. And here's the good news: Christ has never lost a case!'
Though he said that God would forgive 'all', 'even suicide', the fact that he use the word so many times was hurtful to Maison's parents.

9 But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
10 And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die;
Im starting to agree with you FReeping in my bathroom. Who needs punctuation;
;)
F-you.
Thank-you for such a christian response.
Have a Blessed Christmas.
Why are you attacking me on the death of my son?
Posting online on social media can have consequences when it identifies those involved.
No attack. Just didn’t understand the statement, “We all committed suicide.”
It sounds like you, Our Lady and St. Joseph committed suicide.
“Was he just being tough on the kid or was the kid and his parents just snowflakes who could not take the heat?
Wow. What compassion. I hope you’re not a grief counselor in any capacity.”
This kid was no longer in HS and under this coach when he did himself in, he was in college. I was referring to the time he was in HS and under this coach.
But since you brought it up yes the suicide rate for snowflakes is up. No not every kid gets a trophy in life and they are making the cut. Sounds mean? That’s is the truth and this is a cruel world to which their parents, teachers and often preachers if they had any failed them.
This is a response to a previous to a comment. Is it really that difficult to follow a thread? You can see who I responded to, right? Read the comments and responses in sequence and you can follow the discussion. If youre not interested, pass on by, preferably in silence.
I hope and pray you don't have kids who commit suicide.
You are one cold hearted person. I see that in a number of your fellow Roman Catholics on these threads.
There is a huge difference between legalities and moralities. Any person that attends the funeral of a family’s member that could be, or was in the minds of the family, instrumental in the death of the deceased, after being requested not to, is an absolute moron and a classless asshole. They made it quite clear they were not forgiving him for his part in the death, and didn’t want him there in their grieving time and efforts toward closure.
And it is a further indication this male phalic symbol should never be in charge of the physical and mental stresses of young adults in any type of injurous activity.
As for being told by a friend, that was a further indication they didn’t want him near them for any reason. He was too stupid, and crass to take the hint. And you begin to wonder what his purpose was for going at all when he was asked not to be there. All it could cause was pain.
I’m surprised the family didn’t toss him out on his ear except they might have tried not to make a mockery of the funeral which was the coach’s effort here. I can’t think of a single reason he should have showed up in this situation. And anyone with any intelligence and civility wouldn’t have. He was not welcome and knew it!
