Scripture shares how Jesus ministry was among sinners; the same is true today in the Church
Question: I have a friend who says she is leaving the Catholic Church because of the new sexual abuse scandals. What can I say to convince her to stay? — Name withheld
Answer: Begin with empathizing with her anger and grief at the latest revelations of clerical misbehavior. It is the worst sort of betrayal when a priest or bishop sexually harass and abuse their own people. The faithful are right to be especially angry and hurt since they entrust to the clergy’s care the thing they most need to be saved: their faith.
Having acknowledged this, nothing would please the Evil One more than to see a Catholic walk away from the sacraments and thereby be deprived of these graces. This is especially true if the devil can sever your friend from the Sacrament of Holy Communion, which is Jesus himself.
There is an old saying: “Don’t leave Jesus because of Judas.” In his earthly ministry, Jesus was among sinners, and many of the puritanical Pharisees took scandal. Indeed, Jesus was often found in strange company.
The same is true today; Jesus is found among sinners. One image for the Church in the Scriptures is Christ crucified between two thieves. To find Jesus, we must often look past many sinners and unpleasant realities.
Jesus said, “And blessed is the one who takes no offense at me” (Mt 11:6). So encourage your friend not to block her blessings on account of the scandals that Jesus said would inevitably arise (see Luke 17:1). Remind her that Satan will be delighted if she leaves and that she will become one more victim of these horrible abuses.
(And lose all the graces from the Sacraments.)

The Catholic church is a homosexual/pedofile cabal. It needs to continue to die until it is just a bunch of old buildings with nobody in them.
Christ told us “The gates of hell will not prevail against it.”
Yes, there is some cleaning to do, but what about families, schools, non-Catholic ministers, etc.
Is it because people think the Catholic Church has more money?
Or are they motivated by communist and leftist energies that want to destroy the Catholic Church?
So my plea to Catholics and all others of good will:
Grieve but don't leave.
No fear, no flight.
It's time to fight.
Good advice:
**Grieve but don’t leave.
No fear, no flight.
It’s time to fight. **
If the thing you have faith in is a rotting religion, then the devil has already won.
Leave the corrupt institution, keep your faith.
Both will be better off.
It needs to continue to die until it is just a bunch of old buildings with nobody in them.
The only power you have over the Church is your money and membership. Stop giving them money until they reform or die.
Stop giving them money until they reform or die.
TIME for major house cleaning!
The believer in Christ is sealed with the Holy Spirit and is never unsealed. The Christian loses nothing.
Judas never claimed to b3e a stand in for Jesus either.
There is this little thing called prayer.
Amen.
Gates are defensive, not offensive. Gates never attack anyone.
What Jesus means there is that when His body, the TRUE body of born again believers, presses forward and engages in spiritual warfare, the enemy will be defeated. They cannot stand against the offensive actions of the church waging spiritual warfare in power.
It is NOT a promise that some church would be protected for all time an eternity and therefore Catholicism will stand forever. Catholicism by its actions, has forfeited the right to call itself the body of Christ.
God has called us to holiness and the only way someone can operate in spiritual power is in holy living. Allowing sin in the camp WILL result in the loss of that power.
Catholicism is NOT prevailing against the gates of hell. For many people, too many, it has become the gates of hell.
Until and unless Catholicism cleans house dramatically and radically, and calls people to holiness and repentance, it will continue it's fall.
Jesus never spared the seven churches in Revelation which did not take care of the issues He confronted them with.
He's not going to spare Catholicism either.
Now, it's the sex crisis.
Roman Catholicism needs to renounce all of the false marian dogmas, among others, and return to a saving faith in Christ and Christ alone.
And it's a real indictment of Catholicism when money talks when nothing else will.
Why belong to a religion that puts money ahead of holiness and doing what's right just because it's right?
It money is such an influencing factor, then Catholicism is into religion for all the wrong reasons.
If money talks, then that's what they worship.
Matthew 6:24 No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
They really became established in about 400 AD, and then in 1054 AD, The Great Schism happened.
In the 1500’s, there was the Protestant Reformation, and now about 500 years later, another major upheaval and split is looming.
