I wanted to make sure you saw the letter that some women who love the Catholic Church and her teachings organized put online yesterday. Since midday yesterday, its gathered about 15,000 [now over 25,000] signatures and counting. The goal of it is to get it to the Holy Father as a plea to help us in trying to know what went wrong so that we can get things right. In reads, in part:
We are Catholic women deeply committed to our faith and profoundly grateful for Church teachings, the Sacraments, and the many good bishops and priests who have blessed our lives.
Our hearts are broken, our faith tested, by the escalating crisis engulfing our beloved Church. We are angry, betrayed and disillusioned. The pain and suffering of the victims never ends, as each news cycle brings more horrific revelations of sexual abuse, sexual misconduct, cover-ups, and deceit even at the Churchs highest levels.
Some of us original signers include seminary professors who live and breathe the formation of priests. Others are mothers who have prayed for vocations. All wanting to be a part of the reform of Christs Church and are watching as unanswered questions are turning into utter chaos.
I do happen to know that the pope is not uncomfortable with chaos. He knows these neuralgic debates on the most contentious issues have gone on in ideological and theological silos and behind the scenes for too long. And not confronting them, being honest about them, has contributed to the current crisis where men who have not kept their focus on Christ and His laws and the joy and the love of the Gospel have done demonic things.
But given the gravity of evil and the former nuncio to the United States issuing a list of accusations, the situation cries out for some clarity here.
Heres the whole letter which Catholic women who love the Church and her teaching are welcome to sign. Here are some additional comments I made about it. And I talked with CBS about it here yesterday, too, right before it was issued (before so many thousands signed on).
Catholic women, sign and circulate!
Catholic Women's Letter to Pope Francis
If you're not a Catholic woman, please give this information to someone who is.
Can I sign if I self-identify as a woman?
J/K
The pope is a part of the problem. He is not part of the solution. Besides, plastic straws in the ocean are more important than the chaos he causes in the Catholic Church
Francis is not going anywhere (while living.) After this life I’m pretty sure where he’ll be heading.
He’s not going anywhere because it’s all about money and power.
Afraid even 25 million signatures will not affect Francis in any way.
I dub you Queen Marie of Romania.
Well yeah, duh.
However, the organizers are probably going to use the names as a base for other kinds of resistance to Francis' errors, so I hope they get about 25 million.
Ignorance, mob mentality, misinformation, disinformation, rage, ignorance, ignorance.
Good point. We all should sign now. Thanks.
Time to use those graces that we have been given at Baptism and Confirmation!
Signed
Always remember for quick reference: "Trans" = fake.
I am a trans-soprano. (Still sing a smoky contralto, though...)
You’re right, I always mess that trannie thing up! I think now I understand, T Y.
I’m curious to find out what a smoky contralto sounds like - my search engine answers all questions!
On this one you can hear the contrast between Julie Fowlis's chirpy Soprano and Muireann's really smoky Contralto, Julie Fowlis and Muireann Nic Amhlaoidh
I'm in heaven.
Fowlis was a little squeaky for my taste. Muireann Nic Amhlaoidh, OTOH was mesmerizing! I didn’t understand a word she sang, but it was beautiful, and reminiscent of ‘Rocky Road to Dublin’.
T Y V M posting...
One in English, if you please:
This sweet lady and her husband Bill have two little daughters are are raising them in the Gaeltacht West coast of Ireland, which means the music will go on. Why I'm pro-life and pro-planet Earth.
