Andy Stanleys sermon series called "Aftermath" makes many foundational errors regarding the historical, Catholic Christian faith. Since Andy wants the end of the story without the beginning, we too started at the end and will go back to the beginning. We begin our 3 part response with his sermon "Not Difficult, where Andy seeks to make the case that Christianity needs to be unhitched from the Old Testament.
With Andy, the fruit fell very, very, very far from the tree.
Andy has gone “rainbow” with his church. As in “going gay”.
Please ping me as you develop your critique of Andy’s schtick. I have tried to watch him a time or two, but always felt a check in my spirit at things he preached.
I question Andy’s salvation to be honest. My future wife attended his “church” and it was obvious the message he brought has tainted her mind to this day about what the Gospel is and who Christ is.
You wouldn’t believe the sleeping around going on in those small groups either. Folks going on their 2nd and 3rd marriages leading them as well.
Do I sound judgmental?
I have seen him preach a couple of times on TV at his Father’s church.
I can’t understand why they let him preach there.
Unhitching the Old Testament from the New Testament is impossible. The Messiah is fortold in many places of the Old Testament, as far back as Genesis. The Gospels and the Letters in the New Testament refer extensively to the Old. The two are intertwined and inseparable.
“Do I sound judgmental?”
Not at all. Judging - by holding something up to the standard we’re given and are to live by - is not the same thing as being judgmental.
In churches, and elsewhere, less feeling and more thinking is a good thing. I have witnessed way to many spiritual “feelings “ attributed to the holy spirit than I could possibly count. If you don’t agree with Andy (I am not defending him) you need to articulate why. Don’t pull the holy spirit thing. I have seen that done in regards to the color of the carpet.
JUDGE NOT!
Please read entire chapter.
It says;
Judge not as the HYPOCRITE,
but JUDGE with righteous Judgement.
True words
Why bother with this pastor of the north Atlanta mega mall?
Better you should watch Andys dad Charles Stanley
Better yet dont watch this stuff on tv try going to church
Very
And since its not your job to evaluate anothers salvation perhaps you could just work on you
For the record I attended the north Atlanta church of the mega mall once at a friends request. Havent been back
The OT tells us to say to the false prophet:
But what does the Lord say?
2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
Oh, I’m a regular at church. No prob. And the only preacher we view regularly on TV is Ken Copeland. I watched Chas. Stanley years ago. Words, Words, WORDS! God bless him, but does he EVER pause to take a breath?! After being saved since 8-18-1962, I like to be TAUGHT the Word; not preached at.
It's my friend Keith Darrell, who's a campus preacher for the Whitefield Fellowship.
He's a pretty smart character.
I’m making a discerning judgement.
Anybody who cares for their soul should avoid Andy Stanley and his “churches”.
Read the entire verse for “judging” instead of just using the LGBT favorite part that they use.
Could you be more specific about where RWC is wrong?
Or are you just going to try to bludgeon him to submission to your POV with Scripture?
I’ve worked on my own for years thank you very much.
Andy Stanley is leading his flocks to hell. Harsh words, but true.
