Everyone should be welcome at church, but pretending that homosexuality is normal should not be a stance of any church.
Correct.
Everyone is welcome at church, but that doesnt mean the church condones all behavior shown by parishioners. At least, it should be discouraging sinful character.
When I see there is a female pastor, I figure were in trouble. Dont really have problem with them but it usually means liberal.
That’s my understanding also.
Everyone is welcome at church, including homosexual people, others who have sinned, those who don’t have strong faith, or faith at all. All are welcome. Where these people lose it, is the implication that openly gay, for example, are welcome to come in and change the church and theology to suit them. It doesn’t work that way.
I believe your comment is very wise:
“Everyone should be welcome at church, but pretending that homosexuality is normal should not be a stance of any church. “
I believe they need witnessed to. And taught right from wrong. The Holy Spirit may have moved them to come to church to break out of it. Welcome sinners, but preach the gospel.
Someone dying of thirst needs water. Just as sinners need the living waters of Christ. You have to be come to it before you can receive it.
Being ready to forgive and offer redemption is Gods Gift. We provide guidance. But do not pretend sin is OK. But still, provide family guidance, love, and TRUTH.
Gospel doesn’t change.
It is when the church starts ‘celebrating’ homosexuality and treating it as a mere alternative lifestyle that it becomes a travesty and mockery of Gods word.
