Pope Francis Denies the Existence of Hell

[Scalfari:] Your Holiness, in our previous meeting you told me that our species will disappear in a certain moment and that God, still out of his creative force, will create new species. You have never spoken to me about the souls who died in sin and will go to hell to suffer it for eternity. You have however spoken to me of good souls, admitted to the contemplation of God. But what about bad souls? Where are they punished?
[Francis:] "They are not punished, those who repent obtain the forgiveness of God and enter the rank of souls who contemplate him, but those who do not repent and cannot therefore be forgiven disappear. There is no hell, there is the disappearance of sinful souls."

Me thinks you've stretched what Paul wrote there just a tad.
Such as?

Have you two journalists as witnesses on this day commemorating the trial of Jesus?

I see this thread disintegrated into the same Catholic and Protestant bashing as in many past threads by the normal parties. And; you found out that; yes; there ARE Catholics on FR that bash the pope continually.

This is not the first time Francis has been reported to saying Hell does not exist. And he has not once personally denied it.
Pope basher alert!!

O... K...
To: Mrs. Don-o Actually, Pope Francis is less theologically reliable than almost any seminarian in any Catholic seminary in the world. IMHO.I'd assume they give TESTS in them seminaries to see if the students have been correctly catechized before they turn them loose on an unsuspecting world; right? If so; does a papal candidate get tested likewise to see if HE has retained his earlier training before he gets voted on? Or is it some kind of popularity contest?

No, the cardinals in the conclave do not take a test. (Of course, it's also possible for a man to "know" doctrine, so as to be able to score on a test, but just doesn't believe it.)
It's been said that if a papal conclave were held today, Pope Francis wouldn't get 10 votes. The Cardinals have --- for distinctly diverse reasons --- "buyers' remorse".
Whether he can be outright deposed is another question. We all wonder.
Please join me in a pray for the triumph of Christ's truth.

If he truly believes in no hell, and the word of an atheist reporter is hardly a definitive, he is not emblamatic of any Christian denomination that I am aware.

Since when is stating indisputable facts a “bashing”?
If you can disprove my assertion of Francis’s continued failure to deny any of his reported denials of Hell, feel free to do so.

Since when is stating indisputable facts a bashing? When the facts are against the Roman Catholic and they are brought to light...the Roman Catholic will often resort to the bogus charge of "catholic bashing".
To: Mrs. Don-o
Nope. Sola Scriptura is un-Biblical. Yeah....well, then. We've seen the problems the Roman Catholic has relying upon "tradition".
To: ealgeone
Can’t follow a thread, can you?
To: ebb tide
Yes I can....but I see you cannot.

Show me anywhere on this thread that I accused anyone of “catholic bashing”.
I was responding to Elsie’s bold alert that I was a “catholic basher”.
So see? You really can’t follow a thread.
