Sire, a longstanding member of the Order of Malta, was revealed as the author earlier this week
The Order of Malta has suspended Dictator Pope author Henry Sire for allegedly breaching its constitution.
The Catholic Herald understands that the Order notified Sire yesterday of his suspension, days after he was revealed to be the mysterious author.
Sires identity was confirmed on Monday when Regnery Publishing posted his name in an online description of the book. He had originally self-published the book under the penname Marcantonio Colonna, a commander at the Battle of Lepanto.
He tweeted on Monday: As the French say, lheure est arrivée. Sometimes a surprise coming-out party is best.
I tip my hat to the great Admiral Colonna, whose name Ive tried to honour, he added.
The Dictator Pope caused a considerable stir when it appeared in December. It tells the story of Franciss pontificate, as well as his life before becoming Pope, drawing on a wide range of material including confidential sources within the Vatican.
It identified Pope Francis as a particularly Argentine figure, associating his style of governance with that of Juan Perón.
In a statement, the Order of Malta disassociated itself from the book, describing it as a vile attack on Pope Francis.
Following the press articles reporting the name of the author of the book The Dictator Pope the Grand Magistry of the Order of Malta has taken the decision to suspend Henry Sire, author of the book and member of the Order of Malta. The provisional suspension from membership has immediate effect and an investigation is being launched.
“In a statement, the Order of Malta disassociated itself from the book, describing it as a vile attack on Pope Francis.”
Ah....but they didn’t cite any errors in the book.
Their own rules. Though not so worse off than anyone else with a conscience.
OOh, me so scared.
Are they going to investigate the Catholic philanthropy-networking-with-condom-enthusiasts Knights of Malta connection?
Are they going to investigate the way "Reformer" Francis has been protecting Kid-Canoodling Cover-up Bishop Barros (and others?)
Are they going to investigate the way "Reformer" Pope Francis is treating the Papal Foundation as his personal Slush Fund, and track down the millions that went to that money-laundering, tax-evading, foreign-currency-juggling, so-called "hospital"?
Are they going to investigate...
I'm sorry I started this, I don't know where to stop.
Pray for a quick and merciful end to this disastrous papacy.
Must contain truth. I’m going to buy it.
I have it on my Kindle and Ive been reading it - very illuminating. Its not a rant, but a carefully researched analysis of Bergoglio, his past and his friends - and what hatred and confusion in his own mind is making him and enabling him to destroy the Church.
Plus, Frank’s a commie.
Credible British historian fired from the Order of Malta.
Not much else Frankie can do to him.
Hopefully.
I have it on my Kindle, but haven’t finished it yet. You’ll be glad you ordered it.
THE POPE FRANCIS LITTLE BOOK OF INSULTS
Francis can be quite vile and quite vulgar in his attacks on his fellow Catholics.
None of this is taking God by surprise. He will rescue His Bride. But we have to be prepared to lay down our lives.
Maybe he doesn’t want to be suspended today. Push back, Henry.
This guy is a kook, don’t you know? The book is trash with a faux tone of research to convince the ignorant. It’s vindictive and puerile.
The better and more professional book analyzing this papacy is Phil Lawler’s. Read that one so you can speak intelligently with people who are informed on the important issues.
As far as Phil Lawler, he has his few moments of being orthodox; but I'll never read a book of his, nor will I read George Weigel's books.
Question: Are you a Knight of Malta?
