Now when evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the twelve disciples. As they were eating, He said, "Truly I say to you that one of you will betray Me." Matthew 26:20‭-‬21

As Easter approaches and we reflect on the events leading up to our Lord's crucifixion we remember that He was betrayed by his own inner circle. While we cannot equate the President to our Lord, we can say that if Christ was subject to betrayal, how much more are flawed leaders apt to be betrayed.

Heavenly Father, we pray for our President Trump. We pray for his physical safety. We pray for those who surround him that they will be FOR him and not against him.

We pray for his family that You would keep them United in love. We pray the same for Vice President Pence and his family. Lead, guide and direct each and every one because You have put them in place to do Your WILL.

Lord, when life seems chaotic, when things seem not to cohere, may we find great comfort in remembering Jesus’ own experience at the end of his life. Though humans plotted against him and succeeded in executing their plan, nevertheless they could not thwart Your PLANS!

Gracious Father, thank you for being in control of our lives, especially when we feel desperately out of control. Center us in the one who is central to your plan for the ages. Enable us, Holy Spirit, to trust in Christ that we might experience true Redemption. And having experienced the forgiveness of sin, may we live daily in the freedom of your love, wholeheartedly devoted to you. In Christ’s Name, Amen.

HOLY FATHER, we join him in prayer asking You continue to take our President to Your side through his life. If he should stumble, please allow no one to attempt to roll him over, walk on him. Guide his hand as he writes, place Your words in his mouth as he speaks. Please give us the truth to replace the blasphemous remarks we have heard coming from our people’s OO for these many years. He is once again turning Your people back to You. Please see that he succeeds if it be Your Will.

We pray in the name of our Savior, Jesus.
