Scripture and Lesson

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people.
Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf,
and give thanks for them.
Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority
so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.
This is good and pleases God our Savior, Who wants everyone to be
saved, and to understand the truth.

For those of you who have the time, today or over the weekend,
this 26-minute, eloquent, Bible-exhorting talk by the
Chaplain of the U.S. Senate is a rousing call to faith and the power of prayer.
Today's scripture and hymn are called out in this sermon by Reverend Dr. Barry Black,
a man of remarkable and quintessentially American achievement.

Prayer

Exalted Father, Son and Holy Ghost,

We praise Your thoughts that are above our thoughts, and Your ways that are beyond our imagining.
Thank You, Lord God and Savior, for the many chaplains who serve our nation.

We ask a special blessing, Lord, on all those who serve as chaplains and chaplain assistants in our military, among our first responders, in hospitals, schools, airports, nursing homes and even in corporate offices. Wherever chaplains are serving in Your Name, infuse them, we pray, with the Power of the Holy Spirit and the confidence that we have in You, that if we ask anything according to Your will, You hear us! (1 John 5:14)

Be with our God-fearing chaplains, Lord, we pray, strengthening and encouraging them as they undertake the care of Your flock in the places of life-and-death decision-making, consequential action and great temptation. Drive the devil away from them and banish his influence from the hearts of these brave men and women, Lord, whether their service is on the battlefields of armed combat, political strife or spiritual warfare.

We pray especially for those chaplains and pastors who have the ear of the President, Vice President, Cabinet and key Administration positions. Place Your words in their mouths and bring Your lamp to illuminate their pathways of counsel.

Raise up new classes of chaplains all over the nation who perceive a true Call from You to enter this challenging work. May there be a flowering of chaplain positions in the many institutions where people work and live.

Lord, we pray that You will dissolve the barriers and regulations put in place by atheists and demonic spirits that seek to erase Your Name, Your Presence, and public prayers in the halls of power by representives of We, the People. May every knee bow and tongue confess that You are God, the One God, and that in God we Trust.

Prayers for these men who risk their lives taking GOD’s Word to our troops. Men who carry forth in a time of need. May they continue to bring the Light in the darkest hours providing safe harbor to lost and hurting souls.

Included are the Chaplains in the FBI, in hospital, schools, airports and prisons who offer comforting words and a shoulder for those who weep in pain and loss.

Praying in JESUS’ name.

HOLY FATHER, please prepare a safe haven for our President Trump as he will be traveling west, to the land of Sodom next week. The enemies there in state are mighty and fierce. They are filled with hatred for our duly elected President. We ask that you surround him with Your Presence and spirit him swiftly home back to his loving family after his job is done.

FATHER GOD,

Instill in Your people: We are all watchmen for America. No one is exempt. Give us courage and the boldness to break through to shine truth into all segments of society! Give us a burning desire to share the GOOD NEWS that JESUS SAVES! May we not be held accountable for not warning the wicked and unsaved to turn from their sins. Shake us out of our slumber.

Protect President Trump, Vice President Pence, and all who love freedom. Shield the ones who courageously are uncovering corruption, perversion, sedition, and treason in our nation.

You hold the future of America in Your hands. Our hope and trust are in You.
