‘China is the best implementer of Catholic social doctrine,’ says Vatican bishop

The chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences praised the 'extraordinary' Communist state

“Right now, those who are best implementing the social doctrine of the Church are the Chinese,” a senior Vatican official has said.

Bishop Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo, chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, praised the Communist state as “extraordinary”, saying: “You do not have shantytowns, you do not have drugs, young people do not take drugs”. Instead, there is a “positive national conscience”.

The bishop told the Spanish-language edition of Vatican Insider that in China “the economy does not dominate politics, as happens in the United States, something Americans themselves would say.”

Bishop Sánchez Sorondo said that China was implementing Pope Francis’s encyclical Laudato Si’ better than many other countries and praised it for defending Paris Climate Accord. “In that, it is assuming a moral leadership that others have abandoned”, he added.

He accused US president Donald Trump of being “manipulated” by global oil firms, and said that, as opposed to those who follow “liberal thought”, the Chinese are working for the greater good of the planet.

Wow, but it is the Vatican saying this, so it’s not a hoax.

Then China should accept all the illegal immigrants, right?

I imagine that Bishop Francis Xavier Ford will never be beatified let alone canonized by this Pope.

Amazing how many have for so long refused to believe their own eyes and ears concerning the Marxist posing as a Christian who is now Pope:

“China is building a security barrier along its border with North Korea to prevent the defectors or refugees from North Korea.

To encourage people to report foreigners living illegally in China, the police are giving a 100 yuan reward to whistleblowers whose information successfully leads to an expulsion.”

I wonder what the "Underground Church" thinks of that statement, after all the persecution and suffering it has endured?

Sorondo is also the guy who recently organized the big "Save the Planet" conflab with population control and abortion advocates in Rome. Not only is he a communist-sympathizer, he's also an admirer of the "too many people" movement.

These days I’m not shocked often, but wow. Okay. Wow. This just might be the Last Days, with open denial of truth and calling evil good at this level. And forget the NSA or homosexual lobby forcing Benedict to resign. Maybe it’s been the Chinese with all their spying. They apparently own the Vatican lock, stock and barrel. And since they’re dictators, they have less to fear themselves from public exposure if the West spies on them.

The problem is not Catholic Social Doctrine (which is not to be confused or conflated with socialism in any form), but rather that the good bishop happens to be a literal Communist propagandist.

What’s the problem? What was the goal of liberation theology, and who practiced it? What did it result in? The notion of Catholic social doctrine being capitalistic rings hollow, to put it mildly.

This is interesting, concerning the same bishop. He attended an "organ transplant" conference in China last year. Sickening. The government does things like kill prisoners for their organs. I'd like to know more about that conference.

Speaking in Beijing where he was attending an organ transplant conference, the head of the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences, Monsignor Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, expressed the Pope’s goodwill, the state-run Global Times reported.

Yes, at the very least an indictment of the “hierarchy.” Maybe some blame also justly falls on priests and faithful who ignore these developments? If this can be discussed on FR by a wide range of people, why not in parishes?
