"To me" at the beginning of a response is merely redundant for the obvious ...
*Loosers*, eh?
Not losers?
I can't stand that one either.
Seems that using the term *reached out to* is almost a form of blame shifting.
That way they can say, *Well I tried. Nobody got back to me.* (It’s not MY fault, it’s theirs.)
I do believe he was joking.
But at the end of the day, the bottom line is Hope, Change.
[I know, right?]
Gotta go cool and type:
ikr
I’ve always put ‘utilize’ and ‘applicator’ into the same category -— Predicate Inflation to Make the Speaker Seem Smarter.
Without having read the thread, I hope someone brings up the phrase, “Up to and more,” as a sales gimmick. It’s either ‘up to’ or ‘more than.’ It can’t be both.
A phrase to make you throw up in your mouth a little ...
“Reached out to.”
And when your boss says he has something ‘to share with you.’
And the dreaded, “Yes, I do. But not with you.”
Another pet peeve is apocalypse, which means disclosure or revelationnot catastrophe.
Some times, poets and writers used Lo! in the same way.
Some times, poets and writers used LoL in the same way.
I thought, “Who knew?”
Thank AT&T for laying that gooey phrase onto
us with their ‘reach out and touch someone’ commercials.
That’s what sent it straight to the National Cliche Registry.
One of the more idiotic ones, frequently spouted by clueless, self- impressed mediots:
If both sides are unhappy it must be a good compromise.
Perception is reality. One of the most ridiculous phrases ever.
That’s right! We see with our brain through our eyes....
Of course if one WANTS to ‘believe’ something even evidence otherwise before them can be denied.
“Ive always put utilize and applicator into the same category - Predicate Inflation to Make the Speaker Seem Smarter.”
My policy is that polysyllabificationizing is always strictly forbiddenated.
“and “impactful” is idiotic.”
Hannity just used that on the radio. For just an instant I wanted to drive into an abutment.
Yeah, as valid as a manager at a recent facility whose perception, along with another idiot, that a ransomware virus, which encrypted all the data wasn’t that dangerous.
Reality is reality. At least in this dimension.
Ha!
so true.
The persistence of religion illustrates what happens when perception replaces reality. Reality is real, yes, but what you perceive is not necessarily reality.
BTW, these two fools, watched by another, were stupid enough to restart a completely-infected PC and tried to connect it to another manager’s machine. They completely ignored me twice but were unsuccessful because the ransomware had taken over the infected machine at the highest priority, making it all but impossible to execute anything.
I was, of course, marginalized from that point on. Only time I’ve ever seen anti-best-practices attacked. Ever. Of course, none of them had ever made it out of a dying Kansas town, so.....
“Just think about that!”
