It is far thinner to base all your discernment on “Sola Scrittura”, on the Bible alone, which was put together by the Catholic Church in the fourth century based on the living tradition which continues until the end of time!

God’s word is sufficient. I don’t need anyone else’s made up doctrine or a false hierarchy that ignores the tearing of the veil to tell me what to think.

Do you know what Hebrews 10:25 says about Christian fellowship?

You write “every” .... Yes I will admit that the majority of the priests and bishops have followed the “spirit of Vatican Two”, but many have remained faithful to the actual documents of the council, including the popes up to the non-canonically elected, cardinal Bergoglio.
The quoted prophecy of Saint Francis tells us that we deserve a false pastor who will give us what we want, a Christianity without the cross, which will lead to our destruction. The great majority of Christians and Catholics today will willingly follow Bergoglio, who I believe is the false prophet.
Many of the references in the article respond well to your objections.
You throw out the council, but now you feel your group is infallibly guided just as the protestants feel they are infallible. There are more than 30,000 independent protestant groups in the USA alone, all with the same Bible, they claim the same Jesus Christ and God, but very often interpret many important passages in the Bible in contradictory ways. As I wrote in my comment about most protestants were in agreement with not using contraception up until 1930.
Yes we are in difficult times, but I am not going to abandon ship on the starboard side or the port side, but I will remain with Mary at the foot of the cross as the Body of Christ is being crucified!
I see written: “Loose lips sink ships”. Yes those who follow loosely the teaching of the authentic magisterium of the Church, fall very quickly into their own subjectivism and relativism which is not the “truth which sets us free” (Jn 8:32).

And just where has the Catholic church’s form of church governance gotten them?

The whole denomination is led astray by false teaching instead of only a few people.

And people are not left to their own devices.

God’s word is unchanging Truth and not all that hard to understand, and the Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to guide believers into truth.

It’s the Holy Spirit which enlightens one.

And there’s not anywhere in Scripture that demands that all doctrine be the same for all churches and everyone must adhere to it. There are many other non-Catholic FReepers here who are my brothers and sisters in Christ and I don’t have a clue which church they belong to and I disagree with them on some lesser points of theology or doctrine.

Paul refers to, in Romans 14, things that are what he calls *disputable matters*. Lockstep fidelity to centralized teaching and doctrine is not necessary or possible.

God doesn’t care if our doctrine is perfect. None of us can have it anyways and when I see the differences between theology and doctrine right here on the RF between practicing Catholics who are condemning each other because one’s pre-Vatcian 2 and one is a sedevacantist, the Catholic church has nothing up on any other church.

The EO have significant differences in theology and doctrine and yet are still considered in communion as Catholics.

And even if someone has differences, sometimes it’s just a matter of Christian maturity.

One is not a mature believer instantly.

So your whole argument fails on may levels.

There’s no subjectivism and relativism when what you believe is founded on the unchanging word of God.

The USA and Europe have already abandoned Christianity and we will pay a very heavy price, as Jesus foretold in Matthew 24.

“If false doctrine is being preached then YES, it is time to leave.”

Name a denomination that has never had and never will have at least one false preacher, or has never had or never will have a man who preaches false doctrine?

Can you name even one? If you’re honest, your answer will be no, you can’t even name one. Thus, you would have us have no Church whatsoever. God, however, gave us the Church. He’s wiser than you are.

How about you not be lazy and post it so people don’t have to waste their time looking it up? If you want to make a point, have the courtesy to think of others.

You write: “There’s no subjectivism and relativism when what you believe is founded on the unchanging word of God.”
There is nothing more that I can say to you because you are your own pope since you are above any subjectivism or relativism. Thus you will only believe yourself and there are no words that myself or anyone else can offer since you believe to be able to interpret the “unchanging word of God” always infallibly according to you!
The problem is that in heaven there is room for only one God, not two!

The only thing that continues to the end of time is God's WORD, not some changing church tradition. If the Bible alone is not adequate, then the Catholic church did a pretty poor job with it.

If they can't be trusted to get it right the first time, why should we trust them now?

Besides, the Holy spirit tells us that Scripture IS enough.

2 Timothy 3:14-17 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Which is exactly why one follows CHRIST and not a church, denomination, nor man.

Of course I do. I belong to a Christian men's bible study group, have an accountability partner and attend services weekly.

Show us where the Catholic church has officially infallibly interpreted Scripture, all of it, for the people to understand.

Please provide a link to said document.
