It is far thinner to base all your discernment on “Sola Scrittura”, on the Bible alone, which was put together by the Catholic Church in the fourth century based on the living tradition which continues until the end of time!
God’s word is sufficient. I don’t need anyone else’s made up doctrine or a false hierarchy that ignores the tearing of the veil to tell me what to think.
The only thing that continues to the end of time is God's WORD, not some changing church tradition. If the Bible alone is not adequate, then the Catholic church did a pretty poor job with it.
If they can't be trusted to get it right the first time, why should we trust them now?
Besides, the Holy spirit tells us that Scripture IS enough.
2 Timothy 3:14-17 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
Keep repeating the lie enough and people will believe it.
The Roman Catholic church did not "give" us the Bible.
If your faith isn't based on Scripture then you open yourself up to false doctrines. You'd also have to allow the Mormon their other books in addition to the Bible.
The Bible attests to the supremacy of the written word. When Jesus was tempted by the devil He appealed to scripture for His rebuttal to Satan. It is written....is the key phrase in His rebuttals to Satan.
