But never mind. Keep cutting each other to ribbons because there are so many versions of the "one true religion," each denying that all the others are valid.

If you're thinking it's about religion, you still do not get it.

That's exactly our point. It's NOT about religion.

It's about being forgiven by God through Jesus Christ.

Do you have a favorite commandment you routinely break? Maybe the first one? Those that claim to be in Christ and claim the Ten are no longer in effect, will get basic Christianity training, during the 'day of the LORD'..

Where did iscool say they were no longer in effect?

Apparently you don't understand the new birth either and the changed heart that comes from it.

I think the article with the references already replies to your question.
In the end, no one goes to heaven by chance and no one goes to hell by chance. It is a totally free choice to sincerely seek to discover the uncomfortable truth, Christ crucified, or to invent the truth according to our own heads. In the end it is not God who sends anyone to the eternal place where there is not God, which is the principle pain in hell (CCC 1035), it is the person who in this short life did not want to sincerely seek the will of God and thus does not want to spend eternity with God.

Actually, no, it doesn’t.

Your criticism was that everyone is left to their own interpretation without a pope or church to lead them.

But looking at the mess your church is at the present, and the number of people who don’t even accept Frank as a legitimate pope, Catholicism has nothing to offer anyone, nor is there any advantage to it’s system of governance.

It certainly isn’t doing much to protect people from error and being led astray.

You write: My group” (Catholics) believe and profess the Catholic Faith as it was once taught by the Catholic Church.
This is your infallible statement because “my group believe and profess...” according to who??? It always remains in your subjectivism and relativism without the guidance of the authority that Christ left us on earth. I admit we are being now punished by God as the prophecy of Saint Francis explains. But those with true humility will be protected in the arc of the New Testament, the Immaculate Heart of Mary, just as the few were saved in the arc of Noah before Christ.
You write: “There was no misinterpretation”. The misinterpretation was well organized and promoted. Why did Pope Benedict try so hard to create a reform of the reform of the misinterpretation of the liturgy? Why did the Neocatecumens not obey the Liturgical Books that Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict ordered?

Yes. We rebellious Catholics and Christians deserve a false pope who will destroy many souls as Saint Francis predicted over 800 years ago. It is like rebellious kids who throw out of the house their parents along with the rules of their parents, and they think they are now free only to discover that it soon leads to their destruction. This is similar also to the French revolution without God.

You are your own infallible guide and decision maker. If things are not as you want them, you throw it out according to your own subjectivism and relativism.
Best wishes for all eternity. When you die, explain to God how he is supposed to do things according to you; put God straight. In heaven there is room for only one God, not two!

As I wrote to ealgeone. There are several explanations why Bergoglio was not elected canonically and thus is the false pope, the false prophet, the second beast of the Book of Revelations.

You are focused on the liturgy. The non-Catholic Vatican II changes involved much more than the liturgy and even Benedict professed the new, false Religion of Ecumenism. After all, he was a periti at the Council!

Sorry, you and yours merely continue the farce by insisting that the Crisis is the result of a "misinterpretation" of the Second Vatican Council.

I know that I believe the Catholic Faith before Vatican II because I know that the Catholic Church can not contradict its own Magisterium. That is Catholic teaching. Vatican II contradicts previous Magisterium; therefore, it can not be Catholic teaching. Don't bother telling me your article answers these objections because it doesn't.

Revelation suggests otherwise.

10And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Rev 20:10 NASB

Wow!

Let a non-Catholic say that and they are immediately pounced.

Awaiting the condemnation from Roman Catholics.

Apparently there are rules for thee but not for me!

I think Pope Frank is a bad dude, but I hardly think he is the false prophet of Revelation. 👎

I’m trying to figure out how that opinion/statement isn’t also “infallible” according to JJ’s logic and earlier condemnations up-thread.

If you're thinking it's about religion, you still do not get it.

That's exactly our point. It's NOT about religion.

It's about being forgiven by God through Jesus Christ.

Christians still can't agree on precisely how this is done--or explain why it's necessary when G-d had already spoken at Sinai.

My original point stands despite word games.

That’s about how I was a Catholic. I lived in constant fear, that I wouldn’t survive till the next day, when I could get the confessional. I thought God was mean and just wanted to zap me. After a few years of that, I realized I couldn’t stop committing mortal sins, so I thought I was in deep kimchi. Thank God I have Jesus there’s more wealth in my soul.

You just perfectly described my life as a catholic. It took YEARS and my fifth reading through Romans with my Bible study group to finally stop living in fear, accept the fact that no matter how hard I tried not to I was going to sin, and to fully understand how God's grace and the blood of Jesus covers those sins.

As you already know, we can't keep 10 commandments much less 614 and there are times I struggle to keep the ONE Jesus left us with: to love our neighbors as ourselves.

To finally stop living in fear of breaking God's law and living in grace to please Him from my heart has been life changing. Living in God's grace doesn't give us a license to sin, it simply changes us from living in fear of making God mad and suffering his wrath, to loving Him back and wanting to please him from our hearts. Our sins are covered, He knows we will never be sin free. If we could be there'd be no point in Jesus coming to save us.

I wish everyone could understand this as simply.

1. Continuing our discussion of interreligious dialogue, today we will reflect on dialogue with Muslims, who “together with us adore the one, merciful God”

Whoa. Whaaa? What is that? You for real or kidding?

I’m asking seriously, ealgeone.
