FULL TITLE: Nine people are killed at a Coptic Christian church in Cairo before police shoot dead gunman and capture a second attacker
Gunmen have killed at least nine people after opening fire at the entrance of a Coptic Christian church in Egypt this morning.
Two attackers went on the rampage outside Mar Mina church south of the capital Cairo before one of them was shot dead as he tried to storm the building.
The church was being guarded by police in the run-up to Orthodox Christmas celebrations next week.
A picture of the gunman's corpse showed a bearded man sprawled on a street. Local media said he had been wearing an explosive belt, and that two other bombs had been defused nearby.
The attack took place in the Helwan district on the capital's southern outskirts and officials say they have caught a second assailant who went on the run.

The DM is probably doing it on purpose to generate clicks.
So Sad. But in the Western world, this would only be news if a Christian group killed nine Muslims, and in the US, the press would be calling for the pope to resign. But in Islam, the religion is a democracy, or mob rule, mobs of people driven to madness by the local teachers called Mullahs, who are more like local politicians, not spiritual leaders.
Probably but what they don’t realize is this shows the world what islam really is. We know the truth. A muzzie is dead with no virgins and islam has another black eye.
Long suspected that the UK Daily Mail has copy writer centre in Pakistan with writers being paid to fill a fixed web page size.
That would explain the vast number of articles with repeated paragraphs.
Also suspect there are cash incentives to write the longest headline containing click bait words.
Obviously 8t pays the bills and then some.
Love to read the comment section on that site and people there have complained of repeated paragraphs. Have seen sentences repeated but not whole paragraphs. Often wondered what caused this.

Why would the cops have to shoot an already “dead gunman”? Typical media writing.
The Coptic Church follows the Julian (”Old”) Calendar which is 13 days behind the Gregorian (”New”) Calendar.
Therefore today is December 16, if the attacks occurred Thursday that would have been December 15. December 15 is the feast of the Hieromartyr Elelfterios.
On the new calendar December 28 was the Feast of the 20,000 Martyrs of Nicomedia and today, December 29, is the Feast of the Holy Innocents (the children of Bethlehem slaughtered by the order of Herod).
