Catholics are often unaware just how biblical the Sacred Liturgy is. The design of our traditional churches; the use of candles, incense, and golden vessels; the postures of standing and kneeling; the altar; the singing of hymns; priests wearing albs and so forth are all depicted in the Scriptures. Some of these details were features of the ancient Jewish Temple, but most are reiterated in the Book of Revelation, which describes the liturgy of Heaven.
The liturgy here on earth is modeled after the liturgy in Heaven; that is why it is so serious to tamper with it. The Book of Revelation describes the heavenly liturgy and focuses on a scroll or book that contains the meaning of life and the answers to all we seek. It also focuses on the Lamb of God, standing but with the marks of slaughter upon it. Does this not sound familiar? It is the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
We do well to be aware of the biblical roots of the Sacred Liturgy. Many people consider our rituals to be empty and vain, smells and bells. Some think austere liturgical environments devoid of much ritual are purer and closer to the worship in spirit and in truth that Jesus spoke of in John 4.
To such criticisms we must insist that our rituals, properly understood, are mystical and deeply biblical. Further, they are elements of the heavenly liturgy since almost all of them are mentioned as aspects of the worship or liturgy that takes place in Heaven. In this light, it is a serious mistake to set them aside or have a dismissive attitude toward them.
With that in mind we ought to consider the biblical references to the most common elements of Catholic and Orthodox liturgies. I have added my own occasional note in red.

Thats possible bro, or its a different game. Instead of passing the buck, they pass the puck. 🏒 😆😀😁
Can someone be anti-Catholicism but not be anti-Catholic? Are those who post threads attacking and provoking non-Catholics doing so because they are anti-Protestant or anti-Protestantism and pro-Catholicism? I think this question needs to be cleared up.
It might, by the year 2525. 😄😀 You know, it doesnt take much, to be called a basher. 😁😀 Its the world we live in.

Obviously it takes obedience until either you die or Yeshua returns at the day of Trumpets.
Was that something you see as exceedingly difficult?
Read 1John ch 1 and he’ll explain it to you.

But the question remains: Is this theological construct biblical? The answer is yes! The author of Hebrews describes Jesus as a minister in the sanctuary and the true tent which is set up not by man but by the Lord (Heb. 8:2). In other words, Jesus priestly ministry continues forever in the heavenly realm (cf. Heb. 7:25). Now, because every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices (Heb. 8:3a) it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer (Heb. 8:3b).
What does Christ offer to the Father in the heavenly sanctuary as high priest? The offering cannot be anything less than his sacrifice on the cross, since that was his definitive priestly act. Therefore, the Bible blueprint reveals the one and same sacrifice of Christ on the cross being made present in the heavenly sanctuary in an unbloody manner. Such a conclusion is also supported by the fact that St. John describes Jesus appearing in the heavenly sanctuary as a slain lamb (cf. Rev. 5:6).
Thus the crucifixion of Jesus Christ is forever made present before the Father and is not restricted to time and space. Consequently, that same sacrifice can be made substantially present in the here and now in an unbloody manner every time the faithful liturgically remember the sacrifice of Christ in the anamnesis.
So, in conclusion, embedded in the sacred pages of Gods divine word is a blueprint with which Gods holy people, the Church, can construct a form of worship that is truly pleasing to the Lord. The Mass and the Bible are inseparable, and together they orient the Catholic faithful toward the destiny to which all humans are called: heaven.
The Christian can recognize the biblical nature of Catholic worship in the first prayer of the Mass, the sign of the cross. The language of the prayer comes directly from Matthew 28:19, where Jesus commands his apostles to go out into all nations and baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The gesture, a cross over the body, is implicitly found in the book of Ezekiel when the prophet receives the following instruction: Go through the city, through Jerusalem, and put a mark upon the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations that are committed in it (Ezek. 9:4). The mark given was meant to label those among the faithful remnant of Gods people who abhorred the abominations to the Lord and spare them from Gods wrath and judgment.
First, the words This is my body . . . this is my blood find their origin in the Last Supper narratives of the Synoptic Gospels and St. Pauls letter to the Corinthians (see Matt. 26:26-28, Mark 14:22-24, Luke 22:19-20, 1 Cor. 11:24-25).
Secondly, the phrase the blood of the new and eternal covenant is a combination of Lukes account, in which he records Jesus to say the new covenant in my blood (Luke 22:20) and Matthews version, in which Jesus is recorded saying, For this is my blood of the covenant (Matt. 26:28).

2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
4 And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.
5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Uh; just where did ETERNAL come from?
Now the Mormons had an everlasting covenant, but it only lasted about 47 years...
58 Now, as touching the law of the apriesthood, there are many things pertaining thereunto.
59 Verily, if a man be called of my Father, as was aAaron, by mine own voice, and by the voice of him that bsent me, and I have endowed him with the ckeys of the power of this priesthood, if he do anything in my name, and according to my law and by my word, he will not commit dsin, and I will justify him.
60 Let no one, therefore, set on my servant Joseph; for I will justify him; for he shall do the sacrifice which I require at his hands for his transgressions, saith the Lord your God.
61 And again, as pertaining to the law of the priesthood: "if any man espouse a virgin, and desire to espouse aanother, and the first give her consent, and if he espouse the second, and they are virgins, and have vowed to no other man, then is he justified; he cannot commit adultery for they are given unto him; for he cannot commit adultery with that that belongeth unto him and to no one else.
62 And if he have aten virgins given unto him by this law, he cannot commit adultery, for they belong to him, and they are given unto him; therefore is he justified.
63 But if one or either of the ten virgins, after she is espoused, shall be with another man, she has committed adultery, and shall be destroyed; for they are given unto him to amultiply and replenish the earth, according to my commandment, and to fulfil the promise which was given by my Father before the foundation of the world, and for their exaltation in the eternal worlds, that they may bear the souls of men; for herein is the work of my Father continued, that he may be bglorified.
64 And again, verily, verily, I say unto you, if any man have a wife, who holds the keys of this power, and he teaches unto her the law of my priesthood, as pertaining to these things, then shall she believe and administer unto him, or she shall be destroyed, saith the Lord your God; for I will destroy her; for I will magnify my name upon all those who receive and abide in my law.
65 Therefore, it shall be lawful in me, if she receive not this law, for him to receive all things whatsoever I, the Lord his God, will give unto him, because she did not believe and administer unto him according to my word; and she then becomes the transgressor; and he is exempt from the law of Sarah, who administered unto Abraham according to the law when I commanded Abraham to take aHagar to wife.
66 And now, as pertaining to this law, verily, verily, I say unto you, I will reveal more unto you, hereafter; therefore, let this suffice for the present. Behold, I am Alpha and Omega. Amen.
Rome can have the crucifixion; I'll take the RESURRECTION instead.
1 Corinthians 15:12-15
But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is worthless, and so is your faith.
Yeah; but he writes WAS slain; not CONTINUALLY slain.
Revelation 5:6
Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
(Next thing ya know; Catholicism will claim that THIS is literally true as well!)

THAT’S an old song.
JESUS is our priest.
HE is our mediator.
We don’t need any other.
The OT priesthood was done away with because it was no longer needed.
And Jesus came to offer HIMSELF for our sins.
He did not come to be the sacrifice we offer to God continually so God can forgive us. His death was once for all and is done.
You picked right up on that huh? 😁😀 I believe it was Zager and Evans. I was still a Catholic when it came out.
That containing Biblical symbols makes a ritual Biblical is as fallacious a conclusion as supposing that using Scripture and even being instruments of its preservation and formatting necessarily makes such to be pro-Bible. The devil knows how needful the use of authority is, and a smart thief who engages in impersonation keeps his policeman's uniform well pressed.
Thus the devil himself, and his religions such as Mormonism, the The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, "Christian Science" and the life have misappropriated the authority of Scripture, while effectively making themselves the supreme authority over it, both of which Catholicism has as well.
While some devout souls did such things as copy the Scriptures and provide some formatting such as chapter divisions (which Langton sometimes incorrectly did), and Catholicism retained enough Scriptural Truths so that amidst the trappings of institutionalized religion a remnant of contrite humble souls could actually lay holds of Christ for salvation in His account alone, yet overall the Catholic system much misused and abused Scripture as a servant compelled to support her, and for much of her history came to hinder the liberty of the laity to read the Scriptures in the common tongue when it was available , and did not make being them able to possess and read Scripture a real priority.
And having been unable to control access to Scripture, for decades she has sanctioned a poor English translation with many liberal notes .
Of course, if Rome had actually written the Bible it would read much different than it does, since distinctives of Catholicism are missing in the only inspired and substantive record of what the NT church believed.
But even being the historical instruments and stewards of Divine revelation (oral and written) cannot means that such is the assuredly infallible authority on it. For the church actually began in dissent from those who sat in the seat of Moses over Israel, (Mt. 23:2) who were the historical instruments and stewards of Scripture, "because that unto them were committed the oracles of God," (Rm. 3:2) to whom pertaineth" the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises" (Rm. 9:4) of Divine guidance, presence and perpetuation as they believed, (Gn. 12:2,3; 17:4,7,8; Ex. 19:5; Lv. 10:11; Dt. 4:31; 17:8-13; Ps, 11:4,9; Is. 41:10, Ps. 89:33,34; Jer. 7:23)
And instead they followed an itinerant Preacher whom the magisterium rejected, and whom the Messiah reproved them Scripture as being supreme, (Mk. 7:2-16) and established His Truth claims upon scriptural substantiation in word and in power, as did the early church as it began upon this basis. (Mt. 22:23-45; Lk. 24:27,44; Jn. 5:36,39; Acts 2:14-35; 4:33; 5:12; 15:6-21;17:2,11; 18:28; 28:23; Rm. 15:19; 2Cor. 12:12, etc.)
