“Torah keeping” is the gospel of the kingdom.
This habit of twisting Acts 2:8 into by faith are ye saved through grace will cost millions their chance at being raised at the Day of Trumpets.
The cult of “inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit” (aka christianity) is taking a greater toll than any other man made religion ever has or will.
Yeshua didn’t introduce a new “Faith,” he fulfilled the one his Father gave to all who would follow his covenant that he delivered at the first Shavuot at Sinai.
Had he done anything else, his sinful blood would have been worthless, and the covenant would have died, rather than be renewed.

>> “The ordinances and rites (such as sacrifice and circumcision) were nailed to the cross.” <<
A common abominable falsehood.
The Takanot and Ma’assim (ordinances) of the Pharisees were nailed to the cross.
After Yeshua saves his Bride on the Day of Trumpets, Satan will be bound, and the ten days of the bowl judgements will devastate the Earth, and then soon afterward the sacrifice will resume, as Ezekiel prophesied, for the duration of Yeshua’s 1000 year demonstration of the total depravity of man.

My response was in regards to your wanting to mix having faith in Jesus Christ alone and keeping the law. The two don't mix. Not by works, Not by works, Not by works has to be drilled into the hearts and minds of men.
You either get God's blessings and go to heaven by having total dependence and faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on your behalf or you try to get there by your own righteousness.
You can not have it both ways.
its not hard to understand unless you want a easy do nothing salvation
What if a Bible believing Christian has a condition of like Stephen Hawking, I think you would agree that someone like that is not able to perform as well as most people. Is that invalid person confined in that wheelchair and unable to speak any less saved than a missionary in the deepest Congo, trying to preach the Gospel? Or will that invalid Christian person get less from God because that person can't perform as well as others?
It is in the heart of man to want more by working more, that is great in the secular unsaved world, but not in God's Kingdom.
If someone is trying to get more from God by working harder, keeping more laws, reading more Bible verses, visiting more prisoners, feeding more poor people or praying longer than the next guy, he will eventually find that his heart is not right with God at all.
The teaching that the more you do for God the more God will bless you is a false teaching put out by those in the Prosperity Gospel, and it is akin to witchcraft.
Hi back....
Yes I agree, Spurgeon was an amazing Bible teacher. I began reading him early on after my salvation....(he is very deep reading), being so young in the Lord a lot went over my head but I loved that he made me think and check further.
For that matter he still does! LOL
...” The indwelling Holy Spirit, given as the earnest of our inheritance, spurs our new nature to live in holiness”....
And that is our walk of “faith”. I think it’s relatively easy to imagine that we walk this of our own strength...a walk we cannot do without the Holy Spirits prompting. Too often he is left out of the equation of law and grace when in fact he is the “power” which moves us.
It has been said that the fallen nature loves religion when in fact the gospel is ‘the opposite of religion’. Our former nature loved ‘to do’ the works of the law because it also feeds the great sin of pride and perhaps also to prove to ones vanity ‘worthy’.......however we learn that in doing the walk of faith in our own strength we’re really attempting to reform ourselves rather than inviting his spirit to live his life through us.
This is a hard thing for some to understand as I myself took some time to grasp it.
James 2:14 (NKJV) 14What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?
As far as Stephen Hawking, he is a far out liberal and denier of God, and so I think he's in trouble unless he repents (not does works, but REPENTS). And when I say "works", it's not necessarily bodily work. The "cheap grace" that Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote about, and the claim of being a Christian these days but enjoying his sin without remorse -- to stay faithful IS work.
. Let me ask you a simple Biblical question that James asked. What does it profit, WhatNot, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?
. In the above, I did not change anything except the subject the question is addressed to. So let's hear it from you (and I think this will determine whether you take the Bible literally). What does it profit?
Perhaps it is you that are doing that. Did Jesus keep the law? Is He our example or not? If we are to follow Him then we need to follow Him. I don't see how we are doing wrong by following His example. But if you feel different then you have followed the way of the world. 2 Thess. 2:11
“Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers” (Romans 15:8).
Of course Jesus Christ kept the law . . . and He was the ONLY man to ever keep the law PERFECTLY - for it is only in doing that can one enter heaven on their own virtue.
For anyone else, it is one sin and you are forever damned.
His perfect keeping of the law was the ONLY thing that qualified Him to become the PERFECT and COMPLETE sacrifice to atone for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD - but the gift of that act is only available to the individual that comes to Him by faith to receive it after acknowledging that they deserve to go to hell.
With your use of the verse from Thessalonians, I certainly hope that you are not calling the death, burial and resurrection of my Saviour a lie.
With your use of the verse from Thessalonians, I certainly hope that you are not calling the death, burial and resurrection of my Saviour a lie.
I know people love recognition for what they do for God and how great their faith is, especially compared to that Christian down the street, right? But unfortunately they don't get the credit for it, God does.
God produces the fruit not us, we are simply called to bear it. Which means hold the fruit that God produced.
No, I am not. I am calling the religion that says we should not follow Christ in deed and thought a lie. Jesus kept the Law. We are to keep the Ten Commandments as He did. He is our example. The religion of the world says faith alone saves. But faith without works is dead. DEAD. Will God allow sin in heaven? The answer is NO. We are to obey his Commandments or we are in rebellion.
You keep answering the question that is not asked. None of what you say is controversial and only elemental. Of course God gets all the glory.
However, you keep ignoring that question that James asks in the Bible. You have to answer it if you will be saved — it is asked in the Bible.
James 2:14 (NKJV) 14What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?
What does it profit to say you have faith but does not have works?
James 2:14
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Notice the wording. It doesn't say, "though a man have faith" rather it says, "a man say he hath faith" Catch the difference?
Many people say they have faith, but if God is not producing fruit in that person's life, does that person have the faith that saves? The faith only found in Bible Chrisitanity?
If in your opinion you have faith, but there is no change in your life, no repentance, no fruit being produced, then you must question if you have faith that saves.
But again it's not you who does the producing of the fruit, it is God, doing the work through you. And He will do the work through you, if you have true saving faith.
“If in your opinion you have faith, but there is no change in your life, no repentance, no fruit being produced, then you must question if you have faith that saves.”
Now we are starting to find common ground. I’m not saying we claim credit for any of the fruit or even the faith ( Some Calvinists go so far as to say that even the faith is not optional but pre-determined — meaning we have no choice in anything).
No credit can be claimed by us for anything, but the faith that saves is not an easy one of cheap grace. That has been my point all along. Thank you for the exchange.
Another false herring. What professing Christian claims to have NO faith? You cannot be a Christian without professing faith in the sacrifice of Jesus. This claim that faith and works do not mix is the sermon of Satan. He would love to mislead people to Hell through this breaking of Gods Law. James 2:10 "Whoever keeps the whole Law but stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it."
So Satan has put out the lie it's okay to break the Law. The Bible says different. Jesus says different. There will be no excuse at Judgment time for iniquity.
I think that's the whole point. Many there be that claim to be Christians who have faith. But does their lifestyle bear that out? Go to any American bar where people are carousing and take a poll on who claims to be a Christian. What are the chances that many will claim that title?
True Bible believing Christians are not the ones sucking down the Budweiser beers. True Bible believing Christians are not the ones in Los Wages gambling away their paychecks. True Bible believing Christians are not at the strip clubs lusting after the pole dancers. But ask people in any of those places who claim to be Christian and you will find people there who claim to not only be Christian but also have faith.
Romans 12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
Is it you, by sheer will-power that makes it possible to not be conformed to this world?
Who does the transforming? Who renews your mind? You and your religion of doing good deeds and law keeping? Or is it God who does the transforming through the power of His Holy Spirit working in through you, which is only made possible by the sacrificial, substitionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross for your sins?
Titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
