Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Isaiah

Isaiah 61

The Year of the Lord’s Favor

61 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
    because the Lord has anointed me
    to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
    to proclaim freedom for the captives
    and release from darkness for the prisoners,[a]
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
    and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3     and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
    instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
    instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
    instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the Lord
    for the display of his splendor.

4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins
    and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
    that have been devastated for generations.
5 Strangers will shepherd your flocks;
    foreigners will work your fields and vineyards.
6 And you will be called priests of the Lord,
    you will be named ministers of our God.
You will feed on the wealth of nations,
    and in their riches you will boast.

7 Instead of your shame
    you will receive a double portion,
and instead of disgrace
    you will rejoice in your inheritance.
And so you will inherit a double portion in your land,
    and everlasting joy will be yours.

8 “For I, the Lord, love justice;
    I hate robbery and wrongdoing.
In my faithfulness I will reward my people
    and make an everlasting covenant with them.
9 Their descendants will be known among the nations
    and their offspring among the peoples.
All who see them will acknowledge
    that they are a people the Lord has blessed.”

10 I delight greatly in the Lord;
    my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
    and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
    and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
11 For as the soil makes the sprout come up
    and a garden causes seeds to grow,
so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness
    and praise spring up before all nations.

It is a Good Thing To Give Thanks Unto the LORD!
How Wonderful You Are,
Abba Father,
and How Glorious!
How Joyfully we long to draw water from the Endless Well of Your Salvation!
How We Delight To Dance in the rain,
Like the Israelis do,
after a long, hot, summer of thirsting for Your Redemption!
How we love to shout with Joy,
Splashing through great Fountains of Blessings,
The streets of Your Holy City overwhelmed by the sudden Abundance,
All the while, linking arms and singing,
"Mayim, Mayim, Mayim!"
(Water, Water, Water!)

LORD, How You have Blessed Israel
since the Founding of the Modern State in 1948!
Where before, there were only deserts,
there are now acres of vegetables and flowers.
Where before, there were heaps of ruins,
there are now beautiful neighborhoods that offer a place
to live to people from all aver the world.
Where once, Holy Places revered by many were left to rot,
Now they are restored and have become places of Worship once more.

We Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem,
According to your Will and Promise.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Isaiah

Those of us familiar with the Gospel Accounts will instantly recognize that this Passage was read by Jesus of Nazareth at His home town synagogue after He had been ministering for a while. It was a reunion of sorts, as the town folk were interested in what became of the Village Carpenter who had become a Rabbi.

In modern-day synagogues, members of the community are called up to the bema (high place) to read the designated readings for that day. They are usually called up in order, first, a Cohen (someone who can trace back his family to the tribe of Aaron), then a Levite (someone who can trace back to Levi) and then an Israelite (someone who can trace back to Jacob, or "Israel"). Since ancient times, these catagories have been blurred, but usually there is something in a person's last name that would give us a hint (Cohen, Kahane, etc = Aaron, or "Priest", "Levine, Leavitt, Levi, etc = "Levite", and then all the other names would indicate "Israelite"). In any case, Jesus, of the tribe of Judah, was called upon to go up and read one of the Day's Readings. And it was Isaiah 61.

The fury of the people was unleashed when Jesus, after reading from the scroll, said Today, this is fulfilled..." What an uproar this caused! How DARE He!The people were very angry at this local tradesman saying such a thing!

Sometimes, the very people who should know you the best seem to not have a clue about you at all. And these are often the very same people who reject and scoff at some deep spiritual insight that you may have. It is very easy to feel rejected and hurt when this happens.

Just remember...You are NOT alone.

Speaking of Levites, 30 years ago exactly this year is when the Temple Institute began training the direct descendants of Ancient Hebrew Priests, then children, but soon-to-be Priests for Third Temple.

This is how close we are to everything coming to pass.

Praying for Israel and that She turns to the One they pierced (Zechariah 12:10) in whom the remnant will find everlasting Salvation.

Israeli Nation!

7 For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.

8 For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
