Hadrian changed the name to Syria Palestine and it was referred to as Palestine at various times up until 1948. IMRIC.
I welcome sources to the contrary.
Since it was named Judea before Hadrian then we can easily conclude the Jews were there first.
Syria Palestina
Jesus lived and died decades before Hadrian was the Roman emperor. So, the area was not called Palestine until after the time of Jesus.
