MANY YOUNG ADULTS ARE TURNING TO WITCHCRAFT AS A WAY TO REBEL AGAINST THEIR CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN UPBRINGINGS
Young adults in America are far less likely to identify themselves as Christians than previous generations of Americans, but that does not mean that they have given up on searching for spiritual meaning in their lives. According to Wikipedia, one very popular form of witchcraft known as Wicca has been growing at a rate of more than 100 percent annually in recent years, and this has been happening at a time when Christianity has been in decline in the United States. Of course other pagan and occult groups have been exploding in popularity as well, and as you will see below, one of the primary reasons for this is because many young adults are seeking ways to rebel against their conservative Christian upbringings.
I have written much about how young adults in this country are far more politically liberal than their parents and grandparents, and this enormous cultural shift in values has a spiritual dimension to it as well.
A recent Barna Group study found that only 4 percent of Americans aged 18 to 29 have a Biblical worldview.
Only 4 percent.
The shocking truth is that the values of most Millennials much more easily fit into pagan spirituality than they do into most evangelical Christian churches.
If you want to sleep around with as many people as possible, that is okay in witchcraft. If you want to take drugs and get high every day, that is okay in witchcraft. If you want to be a radical pro-abortion feminist, that is okay in witchcraft. If you want to be a gay transsexual exhibitionist, that is okay in witchcraft.

We maybe seeing what 1 Timothy 4:1-5 states: Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
I guess being a “witch” is a lot better than using homosexuality or “transgenderism” as a way to “rebel”.
I have fewer issues with witches than I do with moslems.
I remember these rumors and accusations during the Reagan’s first term. Same thing. Wrath of God, dogs sleeping with cats, end of the world.
I live in the South East, I drive by 12 churches just going to the grocery store, some of them small, the church couldn’t fit more than 30 people, and some of them are Super Baptist centers and others in between.
To these children new to the Craft ... be careful what you witch for. Karma times three.
This is what happens when you take God out of our schools, when you take God out of our cities, States and Country...
If this is what is happening, seems to me that God had better be allowed back into the lives of people...
And Amen to VaeVictis:

Welcome to the 1990’s.
I remember having a conversation with a Wiccan Sunday School student.
Her: “Wiccans don’t worship Satan”
Me: “Can they practice Wicca anyway they like?”
Her: Yes”
Me: “So they could worship Satan if they wanted”
Her: “No they couldn’t”
Me: “Do you even know what you believe?”
She also believed that witches can really do magic but the Salem Witch Trials were bogus because nothing bad could have happened. Which makes no sense.
I see fake news is being supplemented with nonsense news. There must be a story quota to remain on a rag payroll. It really is no matter what the story is as long as it’s entertaining.
A good way to make up for poor swimming skills I suppose.
You mean putting books like “Harry Potter” in the hands of a generation of 7 & 8 year olds has led to an increase in them growing up and dabbling in witchcraft? I’m shocked I tell ya. I thought it was just supposed to encourage them to read...
It is a way for some people to feel empowered. Plus they get to wear their Halloween costumes all year. And be Really Scary.
Probably has something to do with all the fishhooks in their faces.
Another thing for attention that they will regret in 20 years.
I am in North Florida, near Georgia. Same thing. There are certainly many Churches, but what most don’t realize is how many do not really preach the gospel anymore. Hillary Clinton’s church for instance preaches social justice and homosexual acceptance. They are in for finding out Romans 1 the hard way.
There are other signs too, like Labyrinth Paths. These are pagan ritual sites for meditation and summoning of spirits. Several once respectable churches have them in my town now.
I am not saying the sky is falling tomorrow, but it is a slow slippery process that starts somewhere.
ahhhh....good times those Reagan years. I was in the Bay Area for most of them and I dated a couple of self-professed “white witches”. Sweet girls who had no religious upbringing in particular and were crazy in bed. Now that I think on it, both of them did hate the Gipper....
Ya, the first five books of the OT are replete with this type of rebellion,
I think it’s also what happens when religion tries to be hip and peddles the Ten Commandments as the Ten Suggestions.
So true.

Yep. So then you are familiar with the price God’s people paid when in rebellion. Does our culture risk that too? [somewhat rhetorical, just thinking]
Never heard that before, but your right, it is the TEN COMMANDMENTS...not choices...
